The Bavarian Castle was inspired by the Fisherman's Bastion found on the banks of the Danube in Budapest, this is a beautiful white stone collection of buildings with the distinctive pointed stone spired roofs and the gabled stone windows and doors typical of the region. The castles of Ludwig II scattered through Bavaria were the inspiration for the romantic fairy castles so loved by tourists and this is my take on the Bavarian gothic-romantic style.
Once the basic design was completed it was then adjusted to suit Secondlife role play and includes 4 main levels.
You enter by ascending a grand open staircase to the first floor where double doors open onto a grand hall, capacious enough to entertain a large dance, a log fire smoulders in the fireplace and stained glass windows.
A spiral staircase invites you higher but first take it downwards to explore the cellar, at the foot of the stairs you find a large vaulted dungeon with a small lockable cell, here you have plenty of room to spread out your toys and to introduce all sorts of gothic paraphernalia.
Climb the spiral stairs again and if you hug the central column you will find your camera stays agreeably within the walls ( secondlife spiral staircases are notorious for casting your view outside the building), back past the main hall and then up to a Minstrels landing with a magnificent view of the main hall.
Upwards again you reach the private rooms, here you have a terrace that runs around the entire building, the sculpted railings offer solidity and realism and wonderful views of your sim!
Double doors on this level can be set via menu and clicking either door will grant access to those with permission, the menu also lets you decide between automatic or manual closure.
Through the doors you have a large circular space with a very high ceiling, oak beams break the space up and add detail and an opportunity for secret additions should you wish. The wall panels can be changed and added to using the HUD supplied.
Continue up the spiral stairs and you reach the top of the tower, here the gabled window detail is repeated and a flat circular surface offers an ideal position for a statue or artifact, follow around this and you find a small opening leading to a staircase, pause as you ascend to experience the vertiginous openness before reaching the highest room in the building.
This is an obvious space for a lavish bedroom and because the building is well over 64 metres tall you can trust that each of the 3 main levels is out of chat range of the others.
All in all this is an impressive building, it doesn`t sprawl so will easily fit a 1/4 sim plot but its height makes it assertive and dominant. Built from a mixture of sculpts and prims it manages to keep a low prim count for its size and because it is all one link set can be dragged around and taken in and out of inventory without fear of loosing windows or doors. Photo sourced textures also add to the ambiance and realism.
Warning - this is a complex build and for that reason at launch it is only offered with Transfer permissions, you can`t change the textures or remove any walls, with the recent changes Linden Labs has made to the underlying code base an editable copyable version will not be made available until I have had time to test all the scripts required to alter, make or break the building.

Amazing Little Castle
The build is simply breathtaking and so grand feeling for such a small castle. Low prims and the seller was super nice and helpful.
