The Bright Billboard is the perfect advertising medium.

It can show a sequence or slideshow containing a virtually unlimited number of textures, looping back to the first when the sequence is complete.

But what gives it that authentic, real world feel is the transition between the images, which is achieved by eight vertical slats which turn, replacing stripes of the old image on one side with the new image on the other.

It is this *movement* which draws the eye to the board in a way no static sign or simple slideshow achieves.

And because as each new texture is added to the side of each slat while the previous texture is being displayed, by the time it rolls to the front, it has already been cached by the viewers of nearby avatars: so there is no grey/blurry delay while new textures come into focus.

To set your billboard up:

1. Rez the billboard.

2. Right-click it and click "Open" on the pop-up menu to show it's "Contents" window.

3. Drag the textures you would like to display from your inventory into the contents window.

4. Textures will normally display for 30 seconds each. To change the display time of a single texture to (say) 10 seconds, change its name from "My picture" to "My picture,10".

5. If you want the billboard to give things out when clicked, drop them in too.

If the billboard is giving out more than one item, it offer them in a folder with the same name as the billboard itself: so to change the name of the folder offered, rename the billboard.

To make the billboard bigger or smaller, use the built-in Second Life object editor: right-click the board, click "Edit" in the pop-up menu, and drag the white cubes which appear at each corner.

Textures are displayed in alphatetical order: so you can change the names to change the sequence.

And that's it! Promote your business, attract visitors, give out landmarks and gifts, and add a bit of movement and realism to your Second Life!
