It's a single-product vendor, with a fun twist! Instead of paying a set price, customers can offer a lower amount and haggle with the box until it accepts their current offer and takes their payment.
Permissions: Copy, Modify (scripts are copy-only). A transfer, no copy version of the Haggle Box is also available.
Features:
* Easy menu-driven setup lets owner set starting price, maximum discount and maximum price, and other options.
* Responds with an amusing and witty variety of chat lines when a customer makes it an offer.
* Optional profit-sharing with another avatar.
* Optional IM sale notification to owner.
* Optional email sale notification.
* Basic sales stats (total sales, highest sale, lowest sale, etc.).
* Full perms sign informs customers how to use the Haggle Box and displays your product pic.
* Complete notecard owner's manual.
How it Works:
* The haggle box displays the name of the item and current asking price.
* The customer right-clicks and Pays the Haggle Box an amount.
* The box responds with an amusing quip, and depending on the offer made it will:
* lower the asking price;
* accept the offer and gives the customer the item;
* keep the price the same or raise the asking price.
* If the offer isn't accepted, the customer's money is automatically refunded and the customer can continue to make new offers.
* If the offer is accepted, the customer receives their item, the price returns to the starting price, and the owner is sent an instant message with the details of the sale (IM notification may be turned on or off from the menu).
In general, really low offers are rejected and may result in the price rising, while higher offers usually result in the price dropping--the higher the offer, the greater the drop in price (although if it's too good, the Haggle Box may accept it immediately).
The longer a customer haggles, up to a point, the more lenient the Haggle Box is willing to be about low offers. On occasion (and depending on difficulty), the customer may get a "lucky haggle" counter-offer from the box, regardless of the amount entered. In other words, there's always the chance of a lucky price break but it will never go below the minimum price set by the owner.
Once a sale is made, or if the nobody haggles for a minute (i.e., nobody pays the Haggle Box for 60 seconds) it returns to its starting price and customers must start their haggling over.
