BIG LETTERS AT THE VERY TOP TO MAKE THINGS VERY CLEAR: The pack includes bonus objects IN ADDITION TO THE FULL PERM ONES. The bonus objects ARE NOT FULL PERM and you can ask for a package without them for the same price if you only want the building blocks -- the extras are free.

Unfortunately Second Life geometry is boring and Euclidean, but at least there's some ways of peeking past the veneer.

This pack contains full permission Poincaré ball models of the ideal versions of the classic Platonic solids, tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron and icosahedron, in hyperbolic 3-space ℍ³ -- "ideal" means each vertex of the polyhedra is at infinity. Note that these are not the abstract objects themselves since we couldn't really view them on our Euclidean First Life screens showing Euclidean Second Life, but projections or perhaps maps of the real thing.

If none of that made any sense, don't worry about it, they're pretty mathematical objects and you can build and decorate with them. The pack also includes +mod+copy-trans versions with built-in light and motion effects, so you can get something extra shiny and decorative straight outta the pack.

Full-perm models, 1 LI at default size:
- tetrahedron (4 vertex colors, 4 texture faces)
- hexahedron (a.k.a. cube) x2 (4 or 8 vertex colors, 6 texture faces)
- octahedron (a.k.a. astroidial ellipsoid in this form) (3 vertex colors, 8 texture faces)
- dodecahedron x2 (3 or 5 vertex colors, 3 or 6 texture faces)
- icosahedron (4 vertex colors, 4 texture faces)
Scripted decorative light source versions (+mod+copy-trans, scripts only +copy), 4 LI at default size:
- all of the above except the 8-color hexahedron and 5-color dodecahedron

Terms of full-perm use: Not for direct resale. If you use them as parts of your builds you sell, do not include them with full permissions.

See item in Second Life
  • Hyperbolic models/projections of the Platonic solids
  • Full permissions for building whatever you like
  • Also includes scripted +M+C-T versions with light and motion effects
  • Non-Euclidean geometry, but guaranteed to not drive you mad (it's only a model)
  • Basically abstract art
