Welcome to Route Buddy!
Furious Route Buddy is a lightweight waypoint-based navigation system that automatically sets your map beacon as you progress through a route. As you reach each beacon, Route Buddy automatically sets a map beacon for the next one.
RLV preferred
Each time Route Buddy sets a new waypoint, the World Map may appear. If you prefer to suppress the World Map, enable the RLV feature of your viewer.
Quick Start
Option 1: Create an ad-hoc route. Copy and paste SLURLs from the World Map into a text box and go.
Option 2: Create a notecard and paste a list of SLURLs into it. Drop the notecard onto Route Buddy to begin.
Following a route
Route Buddy shows information about the next waypoint:
Route name, current and total WPs: ................ Test Route 1/9

• Touch Route Buddy to pause your route, touch again to return where you left off.
• Long-touch Route Buddy to advance to the next waypoint.
Completing a route
When you reach the end of your route, Route Buddy plays a special chime. What happens next depends on the route mode:
• Standard Mode: The route ends at the final waypoint. The route remains loaded; touch Route Buddy to restart it.
• Return Mode: When you reach the final waypoint, Route Buddy loads the return route. Touch Route Buddy to begin the return trip.
• Loop Mode: When you reach the final waypoint, Route Buddy starts you on a new lap of the course. Run as many laps as you wish.
USB Compatible
Route Buddy is fully compatible with the widely-used "Ultimate Sailor Buddy" (aka USB) waypoint notecard format, and adds a few extra features like route modes and the ability to load a route in reverse. See the included Furious Route Notecard Format notecard for details.
Settings
• Chat: Choose to turn on or off chat announcements during a route.
• Height: Choose to turn waypoint height mode on or off. When height mode is on, you must pass each waypoint at the correct height.
• Default Route Mode: Set the default route mode to either Standard, Return or Loop.
• Default Range: Set the default waypoint range.
