The Gryphon Lair “Guard Tower” project examines the essential space that was needed for a medieval barracks / watch tower. She stands 5 stories tall to provide adequate height required to tower over and protect a village / town. 5 floors are allocated for a watchman turret, a dormitory, a kitchen/living space, a front office, and a lower storage / prison room.
The watchmen turret overhangs the brick wall (typical of Tudor architecture in order to create more floor space) and also to create opportunities to drop rocks or shoot arrows upon attackers.
Wrap-around stairs (technically called “return style stairs”) also was a feature of medieval guard towers, as it forced an attacker into a more difficult, and narrower, approach upon the front door. It was to prevent the use of a battering ram, and to also create vulnerability to the projectile attack from the defenders above.

Great quality build
I am giving this 4 stars, because it is a very good build. It looks great, and is very low in VRAM.
Five if it had mod permissions. I wish I had noticed it was no mod, but that is on me. I still plan to use them, I just wanted them to match the stone and stucco already on sim.
It's a shame MP does not offer 4.5 star ratings.
Still, a great build that I love.
