Generation Meter Version : see Contents

The Generation Meter is designed to receive power data from generators such as wind turbines and Photovoltaic Modules. The display panels show total power output and daily energy rounded down, and optional hovertext shows the contributions of the individual generators. The end-of-day energy total is sent to the owner in IM at midnight GMT.

On rez, the Generation Meter will immediately register all compatible generators in use on the same sim. A simple touch (click) menu is available:
* hover-text: Toggle on/off floating text which lists the monitors which have been registered with their power contributions.
* rescan: Newly-rezzed monitors will be automatically registered with the meter, but a rescan is necessary when a monitor is removed from the system, has its Object Description changed, or is reassigned to a different generator. Energy data is not affected.
* meter off/on: Disable/enable metering.
* reset: Full script reset - all data cleared, and scanning restarted.

The Meter can be used to collect data from all compatible generators on the sim, or from a restricted chosen set. Users may also extend the use of the Generation Meter to register other creators' devices if they can be scripted to output power data at intervals of approximately 5s as CSV on a specified channel.
