The Power Monitor will receive data from any of your own communicating generators in the same region and display its real-time virtual output power.
A simple, but fully scripted, photovoltaic module (solar panel) is provided as a 'starter', but the Monitor is also designed to operate with a range of wind turbines, for which CURRENT UPGRADES are required (see Related Items below).
The Module may be set up at any orientation and the size changed to suit the environment, but a horizontal orientation will result in the highest power output. It is scripted to respond to the true sun direction in SL. On rez, the module will generate a unique serial number which is stored in the object description field, and which is used for identification by the Monitor. This can be changed to any number or meaningful name for convenience. The module can be changed to a circular or elliptical shape, and can be linked to others to make more complex shapes, in which case the linkage will output a single value as total power data.
The information notecard gives full details of the formulae used to perform the calculations.
The Monitor has a dialogue menu which displays a button list of up to 9 available generators, which may be situated anywhere in the region. On selection, the output power is displayed in engineering format, together with generator name and status.
