~JD~ MTF Vintage Roadster sculpted vehicle
JD MTF Roadster
===========
Version: 1.0
Racing in Second Life is fun, but not with the uncontrollable vehicles that bounce on and off the racetrack's wall.
The JD MTF Roadster, a racing car from the 1910s bring back the fun to racing with its reasonably fast, but tuned-to-SL engine (good but not out-of-this-world acceleration, top speed), following the beautiful designs of the Truck and the Vintage (Oldtimer) Car.

FAQ
===
Should I buy it?... questions:
Q: Is it a hard to control this thing?
A: It's easier than most cars in SL. However, for starters we recommend the JD MTF Truck or the JD MTF Vintage car.
Q: Is there an inworld demo for the car?
A: Usually there isn't, but we hold races from time to time where the entry is free and you get a car for the event. There you can practice and drive the car for as long as you wish.
Q: I want to set a high score/best lap on XY track. Should I buy this car?
A: Not really, because those scores are set with cars that we wouldn't at all recommend for driving (in Second Life).
Q: What is the fastest car in SL? Is a faster car better?
A: Probably a cube that has a script with a maximum speed set in it. So you can ask whether this cube is better than anything...
--
Q: The HUD text is covered by my name!
A: CTRL-P or Edit/Preferences, Hide my name on the screen is a setting that solves this problem.
Q: I can't seem to control this thing.
A: Practice a bit. Also, try to go slower or try to release the left/right arrow keys a bit sooner than the the turn.
Q: How does the hand brake work?
A: When turning, press (and possibly hold) the 'C' key. If you do it at high speed it's more fun, but the best use is probably to tap it once, lightly.
Q: When turning, the wheels don't turn too smooth.
A: This is because the only sane way to turn a prim is by a script function that has a built-in delay of 0.2 seconds. Lindens promised a similar function without delay coming in the near future.
Q: The front wheels sometimes spin a bit too much.
A: This is because of another SL function that renders the spinning client side.

nice old car!
This is actually a pretty gorgeous car, all the color options look great and it's wonderfully photogenic! Driving isn't that bad either in the scheme of things, I have driven smoother cars but none that looked as good as this, or had such a great vintage vibe! Highly recommended vehicle.
