This landing point sweeper is designed for high traffic sims that have teleport routing set to a landing which often causes a traffic jam when avatars don't bother to move away after they teleport in. It pushes avatars off the landing, keeping it clear.
The sweeper script is contained in an dome prim. When the owner touches it, they can select options in the menu to change the dome's size and the scanner settings. When turned on it will shrink to a very small size and begin to scan for nearby avatars using a sensor repeating the scan every number of seconds set. Only If it senses an avatar nearby will it then expand and push the avatar away and shrink again. Avatars will be pushed in random directions so they are not piled up. The scanner detects if the avatar is walking over the landing or standing, only expanding when they are idle. This method keeps the landing open and obstacle free, allowing avatars who are just passing over the landing to walk/fly freely without bumping into prims and be detoured. Also no continuous moving prims = low lag and uncomplicated setup!
The script uses less than 0.05 ms of CPU time.
Instructions:
1. Rez the sweeper.
2. Position it over the landing.
3. Left click it for the menu.
4. Select Options.
5. Select Scan Rate to choose the rate of time between sensor scans.
6. Select Size to change the scale of the sweeper prim. (It should be the same size as your landing point.)
7. Select Transparency to show/hide the prim and turn the glow on or off..
8. At the main menu select On to turn it on.
9. Select Off to turn it off.
10. The prim is glowing to make it easily found but if it's too tiny to see, stand close and wait for it to expand and then touch.
11. If you turn it off but want to keep it rezzed then make it phantom otherwise take/delete it. Remember to make it solid again when turning on!
12. You can delete or return the prim by right clicking or selecting Return or Delete from the Options menu. Returning it from the menu will return it to your Lost&Found folder in your inventory.
