█ This windsock BOTH Flies with the SL wind AND Rotates around the pole to keep it downwind (it doesn't turn into a "U" shape trying to bend around a fixed pole position to follow the wind).

■ NEW in version 2.0: Improved sock support "cage" (last photo).

□ Rotation gives you the best indication of wind direction; the flying characteristics, the best indication of wind speed.

□ Wind direction (in whole degrees) and wind speed (in units & tenths) in m/s, knots and MPH are optionally displayed above the pole.

□ There is a red anti-collision light at the top of the pole that the Owner can cycle on and off by touching the light.

Ultra-Low Land Impact (just 2 LI)

■ Product Description
A windsock is a conical textile tube which resembles a giant tube sock. Windsocks typically are used at airports to indicate the direction and strength of the wind to pilots.

Wind direction is the opposite of the direction in which the windsock is pointing (note that wind directions are conventionally specified as being the compass point *from* which the wind originates; so a windsock pointing due north indicates a southerly wind). Wind speed is indicated by the windsock's angle relative to the mounting pole; in low winds, the windsock droops; in high winds it flies horizontally.

At most airports there will be a red anti-collision light at the top of the pole. At many airports, windsocks are lighted at night, either by flood lights on top surrounding it or with one mounted on the pole shining inside the sock causing it to glow. This product provides both features in only 2 Land Impact.

■ Construction:
A mixture of prim, flexi-prim and mesh components are used to achieve the best LOD and the least Land Impact (only 2 LI). In addition this allows the Owner to resize the linkset and the pole separately, allowing greater flexibility for the venue (e.g. on the ground or on a roof).

■ Copy and Modify Permissions:
The most common things you may want to do are:

1. Resize the entire linkset

2. Change the length of the pole without resizing the entire linkset. This is especially useful if you don't want to resize the sock itself, but need a longer pole for the ground or a shorter one for roof top mounting.

3. Change the sock's texture. Three (3) FP textures are provided or you can use your own. The textures provided use the standard 3-red stripes or high-vis orange, both accepted windsocks in RL.

4. Change the Sock's "Flexible Path" options to alter how it behaves in the wind.
As delivered the sock approaches horizontal flight in a wind of 15 mps or stronger and is still relatively limp at velocities of 1 mps or less.

5. Turn the Sock's Full Bright setting on or off; leave it on all the time to simulate the RL situation wherein there is a light mounted on the pole shining inside the sock causing it to glow.
