MESHWORX Disclosure & Store Policy

Our items are 100% mesh, hand crafted in a 3D program called Maya. All textures are custom and lighting/shadows baked for a very realistic look by Loz Hyde, owner and creator of MESHWORX. NO templates or prefabs are used.
We hope you appreciate the feel of realism and attention to detail in every MESHWORX product created.

We strongly advise that you some experience and knowledge of MESH, also physics and LOD
Remember, modifying mesh differs from traditional prims or sculpted objects.
1) Texturing: You risk losing any baked lighting, materials or shadows on a mesh piece when you change the textures. Unfortunately, we do not sell our textures or shadow maps with any items or custom projects.
2) Resizing: Due to how second life calculates mesh, resizing a mesh item could possibly increase the original prim count and could disrupt scripted animations or scripts.

This is my all time favorite house and I am a house whore. The interior and exterior textures and the materials will blow your mind. I love seeing the sun and moon reflected in the glass windows depending on the time of day. The layout suits the house and makes sense especially for the outdoor spaces. The sliding glass doors stay open when you click them. The previous reviewer wanted to mod the house, I say there is no need.

Meshworx, you are going to have a hard time topping this one for me (but I am a huge fan of your builds and did buy the newest this is still my favorite)

Showing an exploded view of this house with a description of "THESES(sic) ARE THE PARTS YOU GET TO MOD" is highly misleading. Yes, this is a beautifully constructed house which may be fully disassembled, however it is not possible to modify a great number of the pieces without destroying their function and/or visual appearance.

The builder has optimised the mesh in such a way as to reduce the number of faces to the bare minimum. This means, if you wish to change the size and/or proportions of any piece, it is not possible to change the texture and/or repeats on one surface without affecting multiple other surfaces. Of course, if you're adept at creating precise, highly detailed textures, this won't be a problem, however, this does make modifying these pieces MUCH more complex than is indicated in the listing.
Removing interior walls will leave baked-in shadows in the walls and floor which can only be removed by retexturing that surface, often needing to retexture the entire object.(See above.) Why the builder has chosen to bake shadows into some textures while adding dedicated shadow-prims to other surfaces is a mystery to me.
Removing some structural components will leave visible gaps in other components which cannot be masked without complex retexturing.

In addition, the scripting used for the security system, doors and windows breaks when the house is unlinked. If you have your own security/door/window scripts this isn't an issue, but again, it detracts from the usability of the separate pieces.

In summary, unless you are highly skilled at creating textures and scripts, with a lot of time on your hands, any modification of this house is likely to produce a substandard result.
