Thank you for your interest in Merlin Machines Hawking Class Shuttlecraft, the most feature packed shuttle we've ever created.

HISTORY
Created as a test platform for top-secret Starfleet technology development, The Hawking Class Shuttlecraft was created with stealth in mind. The outer hull has a skin of monotainium weave designed to scatter scanning and targeting beams. This makes the shuttle difficult to "see" if further than 10k km away. It is equipped with an advanced M/AM reactor capable of putting out nearly the same power as an Defiant class starship.

STAR DRIVES
The ship is also equipped with both a Transwarp/Quantum Slipstream and an experimental Coaxial Jump Drives in addition to standard Integrated Warp Drive giving the shuttle the fastest warp (9.25) of any ship its size. The Coaxial Jump Drive is capable of short range (within region), instantaneous jumps. While the Starfleet Propulsion Science division wants detailed reports whenever the drive is used, they do not recommend frequent use.

QUANTUM NULL FIELD CLOAKING
In addition to the standard and experimental drives, the Hawking Class Shuttle an experimental Quantum Null Field generator. While all known cloaking devices create a gravity well which bends light around the cloaked ship the QNF generator creates a shell of Quantum Entangled Photons around the ship so that an external photon contacting the shell is destroyed and an entangled photon proceeds on the same trajectory from the opposite side. This is such a radical approach to cloaking technology that the Federation Science Division has determined that the Treaty of Algernon with the Romulan Empire which has prohibited the Federation from development of their own cloaking technology does not apply to development along these radically divergent lines.

WEAPONS
The Hawking Class Shuttle carries a full-armament of forward-mounted Standard Phaser and Pulsed Phaser cannons, as well as forward and rear Micro Quantum Torpedo launchers. (These are particle effects only and may not reliably display depending on viewer settings, region settings, and region performance).

PROBES
The Hawking Class Shuttle carries a small complement of miniature probes capable of extending the range at which detailed scans can be taken. They can also be used as an early warning perimeter to identify approaching vessels long before they may detect the Shuttle.

MISSION PROFILES
The Hawking Class Shuttlecraft have been primarily used as test platforms for various technological advances, but it's speed and inherent stealthiness also made it useful for short-term, advanced scouting and scientific forays for small 2-7 person teams.

OPERATIONAL HUD
There is a HUD that will control Merlin Machines compatible shuttlecraft. (older shuttles will be retrofitted as time allows). The HUD is divided into operational sections as follows:

HELM CONTROLS
In the upper Left corner starts control of the sub-light engines and flight modes. Thrusters move slowly and turns are flat if the throttle is less than 2;
