The 'Master Trader Tall Ship' is a static tall ship built in a fantasy style, intended for use as a home or Sim feature. It comprises a lower deck within the hull which has a forward compartment with access up to the main deck and also a rear hold space. A large main deck with access to the main rear cabin and a Poop deck above the rear cabin, accessed by steps up from the main deck. The Ship' has 2 bow anchors with 20m chains. These can be deleted after rezing if the ship is to appear in motion. The ship has been built as realistically as possible within the restraints imposed by the Second Life grid. This means the ceilings within the hull and cabin are relatively low compared to may SL builds so you may find you need to adjust you camera view to allow for this. Also the Rear Cabin has been built in line with the ships hull so you will find the floor slopes down towards the front at an angle of 5 degrees. This means some of your furnishings may require wedges placing beneath them so that that stand upright.
The Ship is supplied with its own Environmental Sound Effects Barrel. On rezing it can be found in the hold of the ship. This item provides creaks and groans and intermittent wave sounds to enhance your experience on board ship.
How to rez your Ship
Place the object 'Master Trader Tall Ship Rezer' in world at the location you desire. The Ship is designed to rez in the correct position when the rezer is placed so that it sits on top of the water. This is usually at a height of 20m but check with your estate manager if you are not sure.
Once the rezer is in the general position you want, activate the menu by touching the rezer object (the rez menu opens by default as soon as you rez the object to the world. You may wish to cancel this menu until you are ready for it).
From the menu that appears on screen, touch the 'Build' button. Your ships hull will now rez and position itself. Please allow a little time for the sculpted components to load as there are quite a few.
Once the ship has rezed you can fine tune the position by moving the Rezer, the rest of the ship will track and follow the rezer. When you are satisfied with the position, touch the rezer again and select 'Save' from the menu. This will remove all positioning scripts from the ship components and they will no longer follow the rezer when you move it. Also it will lower the land impact of the mesh items, giving you more prims to use on your parcel. You can now delete the The 'Master Trader Tall Ship' Mk3 Rezer.
When your hull is in position you can proceed with unfurling the sails. The sails are stored in 3 small rezers which can be found on the middle mast. you will need to be close to the ship as these are relatively small prims so they will not be seen from a distance. By default as soon as the sail rezers are places in world they will activate their rez menus, these can be ignored until you are ready to rez your sails. The 3 rezer each produce a different sail configuration. Please note that each rezer works independently of the other rezers so you will need to remove the first set of sails you rez before rezing new ones, this can be done from the menu or by simply deleting the sails and their rigging manually.
The top rezer is for the 'Running Sails'. Use this configuration when the ship is to appear that it is running at full speed in the direction of the wind.
The middle rezer is for 'Furled Sails'. Use this configuration when the ship is to appear at anchor or when docked at port. The sails here are folded up.
The bottom rezer is for the 'Close Hauled Sails'. Use this configuration when the ship is to appear that it is tacking against the wind.
It is possible to leave all the rezers active while you are moving the ship into its final position as the active sails will follow their rezers which will in turn will follow the ship rezer. Once you are happy with your sail choice please remember to save the rezed sails using the menu. This will remove the positioning scripts from the sail objects. If you wish you can leave the rezers active however this will cause a little bit of lag in your sim so it is not advised especially in very busy sims.
