MFU Instructions

MFU stands for Modular Firefighter Unit.
This can be attached (linked) to most modifiable helicopters in SL that provide enough room on the underside of the helicopter.
You can additionally attach this to your avatar and use it this way for helicopters that are not modifiable.
The model is 100% mesh except for the hose that hangs down which is a normal prim with flexi to make it look more realistic.

Supports both TPF and HD Fire Systems!

Model:
Mod Yes / Copy Yes / Trans No
Scripts:
Mod No / Copy Yes / Trans No

Package contains:
MFU for helicopters
MFU HUD
MFU Texture Package
Drop Water example gesture

First Use:
Click on the MFU and you will get a Dialog menu, select 'On' from that menu.
This will activate the MFU and set its properties to Physical Shape None (makes the MFU completely phantom, but will give a script error if not linked).
You can now click the MFU again and select the fire fighting system or color.
For Roleplay areas that do not have Linden Water you can refill your tank with the REFILL option on the Menu.

Wear the MFU HUD to operate the MFU when it is switched on.

Hose Down - will lower the hose to collect water before filling the tank.
Hose Up - will raise the hose ( when raised you are not able to fill the tank)
Fill Tank - will switch on the pump to fill the tank, this will only work when the hose is down and you are approx. 3 meters above Linden Water.
Doors - will close the release doors after you have dropped your water load.
Drop Water - will open the MFU tank doors and drop the water on the fire.

Gestures:
If you want to create gestures for all the functions here are the commands:
Listening on Channel -963963
/-963963 drop
/-963963 hosedown
/-963963 hoseup
/-963963 door
/-963963 fill

Notes:

This system is very intuitive and easy to understand. The biggest problem I foresee is the fact you will have to link it to your helicopter and will require a simple but basic understanding on how to link objects in second life. If you do not have that knowledge and no friends to ask for help I would suggest joining my Spijkers & Wingtips group ( secondlife:///app/group/762bdc71-4b01-517d-75f8-546da839d794/about ) and asking other customers there.
I cannot give building aid for this product and if you believe you do not have the skills to link objects then DO NOT BUY this product!

How to Link it to your helicopter:

Rez your helicopter and set the rotation values to zero.
Rez the MFU and set it's rotational values to zero.
Place the MFU under the helicopter and link it to the helicopter so that the helicopter is the root prim.
To do this select the MFU first in edit then hold alt and select the helicopter.
Both objects should now be highlighted and you can press CTRL + L simultaneously.
If you now select your helicopter the MFU should be linked to the Helicopter as a child prim.
The MFU is modifiable and you can stretch the whole unit to fit nice and snug under your helicopter.
If you need to stretch the MFU on the separate xyz axis then you will have to realign the invisible hose hanging down to it's attachment point.
If you are linking the MFU to older sculpty helicopters please read instructions below if you get the error message:
"Can't enable physics for object with physics resource cost greater than 32"

Linking it to Sculpted helicopters:

Most sculpted helicopters will have a max. of 32 prims and linking extra prims will cause the object to give an error message that it can't enable physics for object with physics resource cost greater than 32.
Solution is simple; select the helicopter in edit and go to the Features Tab, on the right side under Physical Shape Type, select 'None'.
You will get an error "Cannot set root prim to have no shape" disregard that message. Now all but the root prim of the helicopter will have no physical shape.
This will however cause problems, as most of the helicopter but the root prim will fall through the floor and seem totally phantom. To fix this select 'Edit linked parts' go back to the Features Tab and the Physical Shape Type and give those parts of the helicopter that require a physical shape ie. the skids and main hull a physical shape.
I would suggest using the physical shape Convex for all the parts that need to be reverted back from None Physical Shape.

Tricky to use, but lots of fun.

Its very tricky to use this because of where you have to be in relation to the fire but it is well worth it for realism of a fire drop. Does require a steep learning curve as it is slightly difficult to use but well worth it for the looks more than for the firefighting capability.
