Welcome to the “Nymph”, a brig rigged boat as might have been seen in service to the navies, traders and privateers of the 18th and 19th century. It is no particular historical ship but rather a unique design inspired by its ancestry.

You can walk around the main deck, quarterdeck and forecastle. The sitter system allows you to take the helm as well as many other positions around the ship, including gunner, rigging, captain's cabin and bedplace and many more. While only the helmsman can control the rudder, other crewmembers can trim, set and clew the sails or operate the artillery. You can crew-operate the ship or fully control it solo.

The "Nymph" is brought to life by a new, unique and highly realistic sailing engine, intended to simulate the experience of handling a square rigger. The entire ship is made of handcrafted and all original design.

The sail trim does not only affect the propulsion, but the torque/turning too. It is possible to steer the ship by sails only, as you could do on a real-world full-rigged ship. Furthermore, each sail can be set and clewed individually, giving you full control of the sheet. Wind direction and speed can be set much like in other engines and you can also use WWC wind setting. Real world tallship sailors have described the engine as "just like the real thing".

The ship uses its own unique combat system - it is not SPD compatible! We decided against using SPD and in favor of creating our own system for the fact that our approach does not require you to be in a rez enabled area to work, so you can fight anywhere.

Furthermore you can:
- Transfer the main HUD to friends and get a crew together.
- Christen the ship and create your own nameplate for it.
- Control the ship's livery with the new Appearance HUD.
- Choose your flag or fly your own.
- Updated the Pose Engine.
- Appearance HUD now lets you animate your own flags.

You can rez and sail a demo at our inworld shipyard!

Easy to learn how to sail these square rigged vessels from. Nimble, moderate firepower, and moderate size so you can even fit it into moderately shallow waters!

The ships do have a learning curve, but be patient, read all of the instructions, and the end result will be a realistic pirate sailing experience in Second Life.

An amazing experience!

Though being the smallest of the N+K vessels, this boat is by no means boring. With it's very detailed and realistic sailing system, this should impress any of those passionate about the sailing exerience.

Also, with it's smaller size, it's a lot less intimidating for those looking to learn how to sail the N+K vessels, or for those looking to teach people into getting into the experience, as the boat can be sailed by guests too. A great training vessel!

This, like all the N+K ships not only has easy to use HUDs, but the manual is very informative regarding how to use them, along with other useful information, like ship specs or how to customise your vessel. Even providing a youtube link to teach newbies how to do the tacking and so on.

The customisation is easy too, with the Appearance HUD being pretty straight forward in terms of how to use it. Giving you the ability not only paint the hull, but change the flag or even the ship's name to give it your own!

The combat system is fun too, with no need to be in a rez zone, these N+K ships can battle pretty much anywhere. And with a hull damage system, you can even be sunk too, whether by an opponent or too many collisions, so be mindful of those shallow bits of water!

Just like the other N+K vessels, this boat is a truly amazing experience, especially for those with a passion for history, or sailing. You wont be disappointed. 5 stars!

This is what sailing in SL ought to be.

While this is the smallest vessel in the N+K Fleet, it is huge in immersive sailing experience. Square rig sailing is difficult in RL. It is not easy in SL. Yet here is a vessel that challenges you to watch what you are doing. It is GREAT having a crew who will keep an eye open for hazards. For the folks who go sailing with you, they can actually feel like they are actively participating in sailing the ship! You may damage the vessel you rez (There is always the original in your inventory) and limping into a rez area to make repairs adds spice! You can operate (and fight) the vessel solo of course, just know you will be doing everything yourself... there is glory in that too!

Awesome looks but ....

I purchased this boat because I believe I have a boat of every maker in my collection, and because starting somehting more real than SPD is a bold move that needs support. And of course because of its awesome look. So I decided I can take the boat and if it wont be good, at least it can serve as home ship at my dock.
Well first thing that disapointed me a lot is no mod, honestly I love to texture my boats with my textures and make them look unique at least a bit.. But OK can live without it, however thing that bothers me way more is no way to change sailing view! I know I can go in mouselook but hey - this ship really deserves a change of view option! You really should check out LCSY solutions on cameras, they function way better than this bloody, moronic bird perspective! Of course I can't imagine how should function option to set up own wind directions in battles, and I bet mods will hate it, but I guess that will resolve with time if the project survives, because if there is no themed place where it can be used except at blakes, we just can't play with it anywhere ... not to mention taht wuith the current camera settings it's not realyl playable at all.

Just brilliant.

Ok I bought the Nymph for two reasons. I have the Mercury and it's just amazing but I purchased in world so I couldn't do a review but now I can.
N+K Ships/boats are the best sailing vessels in SL hands down and I know it's Linden well spent. They're not weighed down with 300 sex animations or un-needed scripts, they are for sailing not mooring at your dock as a trophy of your SL wealth (coughs). The sailing system is truly amazing and lifelike and the physics are damn good. When I first demoed these boats I jumped on and got all confused and a little frustrated but after following the quick start instructions I had control of the ship and was grinning all the way. Sim crossing are fantastic and smooth. The builds themselves are really well done and have an authentic look about them. The textures are clean and lifelike. The HUD's that come with the ships/boats are just spot on and have everything you would ever need to sail these awesome vessels. You also get a HUD to change colour schemes and to re-name them.
I get lots of comments when I'm sailing and people are surprised at the maneuverability of these things. And that comes from working the sails and rudder in combination not a simple Left, Right, Up, Down.
The animations for Captaining and crewing the ship are ample and practical and the animations when moored are plenty for what you would ever need.
Since discovering sailing in SL and spending a fortune on some real disappointments I can honestly say this and the Mercury are way up there with my best purchases in SL.
BTW the creator is approachable, friendly and very helpful.
I have no hesitation in giving N+K Boat's/ships 5 stars.
But don't take my word for it got try a fully working demo, but make sure you read the quick start guide and you will see for yourself wow wonderful these really are.
Did I mention you can battle these things too. The HUD has canon options where you can fire on or be fired upon and take damage, catch fire and sink
