A mahogany athénienne from the Empire period. Two versions are included, the complete one with a basin and ewer, and one without it that can be used as a side table. They are purely decorative and not scripted.
The athénienne is part of the furniture that appeared at the end of the 18th century under the impulse of the new neoclassical taste, inspired by the objects unearthed during the excavations at Pompeii and Herculaneum.
It was placed both in bathrooms, reception rooms and in private apartments. Its use was extremely varied; it served as a planter, incense burner, night light table, work table or even a man's dressing table; a bowl and an ewer could then complete it.

I could cry...
about such a lovely thing! I really admire your work so so much! Thank you for doing it and please do more ♥
Lovely!
Thank goodness! Another marvelous piece from Ordem da Rosa! I am so glad, I love their stuff! This item is another perfect addition to the collection! It works well in bedrooms, studies, bathrooms, or in my case, dressing rooms. It is small and doesn't take up much room so it may just be that perfect touch you were looking for to have in a corner or little space! I love it! Thank you LisaMarie for more antique furniture, keep producing, I shall keep buying!!!! 5 stars from me! :)
