Generation Meter Version 2.2

The Generation Meter is designed to be used in conjunction with the Power Monitors available at:

These are used to display power output from individual compatible green generators such as wind turbines and PV Modules and transmit the data to the Generation Meter which then shows (a) the rounded-down total near-instantaneous power being received by all registered monitors, and (b) the daily energy generation. An end-of-day energy total is sent to the owner in IM at midnight GMT.

On rez, the Generation Meter will immediately register all monitors (if v.4 or later) in use on the same sim. A simple touch (click) menu is available:
* hover-text: Toggle on/off floating text which lists the monitors which have been registered with their power contributions.
* rescan: Newly-rezzed monitors will be automatically registered with the meter, but a rescan is necessary when a monitor is removed from the system, has its Object Description changed, or is reassigned to a different generator. Energy data is not affected.
* meter off/on: Disable/enable metering.
* reset: Full script reset - all data cleared, and scanning restarted.

The Meter can be used to collect data from all monitors on the sim, or from a restricted chosen set. Users may also extend the use of the Generation Meter to register other creators' devices if they can be scripted to output power data at intervals of approximately 5s as CSV on a specified channel. Similarly, daily energy output data may be used, e.g. to feed a storage battery, by intercepting data on another specified channel.
