I see the point of it, it looks good, but...

It completely relies on advanced light models and projectors to work, and truth is, advanced materials in SL are not perfect. When i say it completely relies is cause it is technically just a flat gray texture, and the aluminum only shows up with materials and light present, which means, most of the time the surface will simply look flat gray.

I would totally recommend it for specific use like detail pictures, but is not practical for normal everyday use.
