Red Sails Shipyard is pleased to present the Sambouk Dhow as an Age of Sail ship for SPD enabled estates and sailing regions. The RSS Sambouk is based on the real life plans and drawing for a Mediterranean Sambouk Dhow . The RSS version is done with scale details in mind to offer a beautiful looking ship suitable for SPD Age of Sail combat.
As the first 3rd generation (Gen3) RSS ship, the Sambouk leverages cutting edge mesh collision construction to do away with the old collision prim and use the hull instead. The hull collision physics allows sailing close to shore without annoying land collisions like older RSS ships while combining with new mesh techniques for sails, mast, and details to drastically reduce the overall land impact.. Indeed, the RSS Sambouk is a one-piece medium-class ship with only 46 moored and 48 sailing land impact!
The much improved collision physics sails incredibly smooth while speeding up region transitions to nearly instant. Sailing performance harkens back to the much beloved TSS Dhow in speed and turning ... Dhow captains may instantly feel like coming home to a very familiar ship. :)
