Need a railway connection on mainland and nobody answers your support ticket?
You have a railway connection but the switch stand is not working properly or is at a sim border?
You can solve the problem with this set of scripts and with this switch stand.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
- It works like any switch stand, only that it deploys tracks and guides, creating a temporary access way over protected land, which vanishes in 100 seconds.
- Optionally, it deploys an extra (beyond corner) switch stand every 100 seconds, which moves to a better location on protected land and vanishes in 100 seconds, allowing train operators to command your switch stand from a better position.
- It is just as hard to set as a conventional railway switch stand, but less lag. Also, it has less prims.
HOW TO SET IT
1. Set the guides and the tracks.
2(optional). Set the 'Beyond Corner' switch.
3. Set the main switch stand.
1. SET THE TRACKS
- Just like when building a conventional switch stand, place the tracks. You can use any track if you insert the 'Railway Guide Track Informator' inside or you can use the simple 'Railway Guide Track Informator' redy-to-use track (which already has the script inside).
- Put the tracks and click on them. You will hear a message. The tracks become translucent. Then insert the 'Railway Guide Executor Track' script inside.
- If all is ready, tracks change name into 'Railway Guide Executor Track'.
- Pick them to your inventory.
2. SET THE GUIDES
- You need to configure the guides. Use the 'Railway Guide Informator', which is a fitted guide.
Additionally you can use other guides if you load them with the script 'Railway Guide Informator'.
Notice that these guides are shorter than conventional guides. By placing many short guides, you will overwhelm the existing guides and you will trick trains into following your guides towards your railway. The more guides you put, the better it works.
- Click on the guides. They become translucent.
- Insert the 'Railway Guide Executor Script' inside the guides.
Additionally, you can insert the 'Railway Guide Executor Script Counter'. It does the same, only that you will see a timer above the guides, showing you how many seconds they have left to live.
- The guides change their names into 'Railway Guide Set' and become translucent.
- Pick the guides to your inventory.
3(OPTIONAL). SET THE BEYOND CORNER SWITCH.
- Take the 'Railway Guide Beyond Corner Informator' script and put it close to where your switch stand will be. It should contain the script 'Railway Guide Informator Beyond Corner' inside. Additionally, if you want to build your own switch, you will need to insert the script inside.
- Click on it.
- Now move it to where you want (beyond a sim border or two, close to the railway).
- Click it the second time. If all is correct, you should see a big message with plenty of numbers. Also, it has changed its name into 'Railway Guide Beyond Corner'.
- Insert the 'Railway Guide Beyond Corner' script inside it.
- Take it to your inventory.
4. SET THE MAIN SWITCH STAND
Depending on what your railway connection, you might need the 'Railway Guide Main Switch Left' or 'Railway Guide Main Switch Right'.
- Put the switch stand on your land, close to the railway connection.
- If you don't need a 'beyond corner switch', the script 'Railway Guide Dictator' is enough. If you make your own switch stand, you will need to insert this script in.
- If you need a 'beyond corner switch', remove the 'Railway Guide Dictator' script and insert the 'Railway Guide Dictator Beyond Corner'.
- If you make your own switch stand and you want some red and green lights, you need to insert the 'Railway Guide Main' script inside the light for the main line and 'Railway Guide Branch' inside the script for the branch line.
- Insert all the 'Railway Guide Set Track' pieces in the switch stand.
- Insert all the 'Railway Guide Set' pieces in the switch stand.
- (optional) Insert the 'Railway Guide Beyond Corner' in the switch stand.
- DO NOT CHANGE THEIR NAMES!
- Now, if all is properly set, it should work.
