This ship is inspired on the Norfolk Wherry and the Norfolk Keel. This is double-ended, and its hull painted black with a white nose to aid visibility after dusk, the sail historically also black from being treated with a mixture of tar and fish oil to protect it from the elements.

This ship is specifically designed for Pirate and Naval War games, so it's compatible with all the great brands such as TSS, SPD, AoS, etc.

The SSS Norfolk has a simple and effective system for transport and delivery of cargo. It consists in a number of crates and barrels scripted to receive and deliver goods. They includes some features designed for a friendly operation. To protect the goods from the elements and thieves, the cargo hold is covered by a tarp that can be locked and unlocked by the captain. But be aware that if your ship gets damaged enough to be incapacitated to sail, the tarp will be inevitably unlocked, leaving the cargo unprotected.

- The SSS Norfolk is copiable and physically modifiable.
- It can operate on Normal View and Mouselook.
- Sails set is automatically worn when boarding the ship (just one set is used for both static and active modes).
- It is driven by the wind (it is based on the Flying Tako scripts by Kanker Greeacre).
- Turn speed depends on the ship speed, so kedge anchors were included.
- 16 hitpoints of structure strength.
- 10 crates and 4 barrels scripted to take and deliver cargo (lockables).
- Tarp to protect the cargo hold (lockable).
- 2 camera settings for the captain.
- Iron angle is 40.
- Sailing HUD with Merchant Features menu.
- Multiple effects includes sounds, smoke and explosion.
- It shows progressive damage.

The box includes:
- SSS Norfolk.
- Repair depot.
- Sailing/Merchant HUD.
- Sailing gestures.
- Instructions.
- Extra documentation about sailing in SL.

Fair boat for that price

Design of the boat with its crates are great.
Technology is a bit outdated (hull and sails are unlinked when you rez, linking when you board).
By consequence, possible updates are a bit complex or limited (sails texture cannot be modified)
Wind system is not popular (like Bwind) and you need a compass with manual input for wind direction to sail accurately.
When you know all that, it is a good cargo boat to sail.
