The collection "Salon de Compagnie" contains all the furniture Marie Antoinette used in her Salon at château de Petit Trianon. The Salon de Compagnie is the largest room of the Petit Trianon. It was in this room that the Queen would entertain the selected few that were granted an invitation to the intimate atmosphere. The furniture is upholstered in dark pink with cream-coloured silk.

The collection contains:

Bergere, Fauteuil a la Reine, Fauteuil Cabriolet, Sofa, Fireplace Screen and Taboret (Pictures 2 to 6)
Contains both PG and Adult versions

The Bergere, Taboret and the Fireplace Screen were were made by Nicolas-Quinibert Foliot and the ornamentations by the sculptor Pierre-Edme Babel in 1769 for Madame du Barry. When Marie Antoinette took over Petit Trianon she decided to keep the furniture and she commanded Jean-Baptiste-Claude Sené in 1775 to make 2 canapés (sofas), 4 Fauteuils a la Reine and 2 Fauteuils Cabriolet.

Riesener table (Picture 7)

Made by Jean-Henri Riesener in 1781 for the queen’s Grand Cabinet Intérieur at Versailles, the table is intended to be used as a small writing table. The marquetry surface on top is richly embellished with a pattern of trelliswork enclosing rosettes frequently used by Riesener on furniture for Marie-Antoinette.

Tea Table (Picture 8)

This tea table is characteristic of cabinet-maker Bernard Molitor at the end of the 18th century. The caryatid figures that adorn the feet are real sculptures in the "Etruscan" taste.

Fireplaces (Picture 9)
Contains all 4 versions

This extraordinary fireplace is the centerpiece of the Salon. Made out of Breche Violette or Carrara marble.

Andirons (Picture 10)
Contains both gold and silver version

Elegant Andirons in "Goût Grec" style (a French term for "Greek taste", that is often applied to the earliest expression of the neoclassical style in France).

Mirrors (Picture 11)
Contains both gold and silver version

This magnificent mirror is located on all 4 walls of the Salon. The mirror frame is decorated with wildflowers tied up with silk ribbons.

Sconce (Picture 12)
Contains both gold and silver version

Exquisite and grand bronze five arm neoclassical sconce that stood above the fireplace in Salon of Petit Trianon. It is adorned with various flowers and suspended with silk ribbon with a bow on top.

Sèvres Clock (Picture 13)

About ten allegorical clocks of this model with Apollo and Daphne (circa 1775), probably created by the marchand mercier Dominique Daguerre, are known.

Sèvres Vases (Picture 14)
Contains 3 porcelain and 3 gilded vases

This vase in porcelain was created in 1761 by Jean-Claude Duplessis, Goldsmith of the king.
For this vase of "two figures of Nymphs leaning against a shell placed on an ornamental foot", Duplessis received in 1763 the large sum of six hundred livres.

Ostrich egg Vase (Picture 8)

This Ostrich egg Vase was painted by Jean-Etienne Lebel, who specialized in decorating these eggs from the Menagerie of Versailles. The vase wasmounted on an ivory base and pomegranate wood, made in circa 1767 for Madame Adelaide.

Harp (Picture 15)

This luxurious instrument was made in circa 1770 by one of the leading harp-makers in late 18th century Paris, Jean-Henri Naderman.

Music Stand (Picture 15)

This Music Stand was among the luxurious furniture ordered by Marie Léopoldine Palffy, granddaughter of a Hungarian palatine, widow of the Austrian prince Kinski, for her mansion on rue Saint-Dominique in Paris, acquired in 1773.

Harpsichords (Picture 16)
Contains all three versions

This simplistic and elegant harpsichord was made in 1789 by Pascal Taskin. There are three versions: the original (mahogany), Chinoiserie (black) and the white painted one.

All three Harpsichords contain the music of Royer, Rameau, Vivaldi, Handel and Telemann.

The Bergere and both Fauteuils contains 12 high quality, motion capturing bento poses (5 female, 3 male and 4 adult couples animations).
The sofa contains 14 high quality, motion capturing bento poses (6 female, 3 male and 5 adult couples animations). It was set up so two avatars can be seated at the same time.
The taboret was made only for decorative purpose. You can add your own animations if you wish so.

The animations were set up for the female body of 1.8m of height and 2.1m of height for the male one. If the animation doesn't look right you your avatar, please adjust it in the AVsitter menu.
