TOS Data Tape Reader
You've found yourself on a listing for a quality reproduction of one of the most often forgotten about on-screen props: The TOS Data Tape Reader! Appearing in many episodes of the Original Series, this mystery prop is not well documented and is barely mentioned outside a few miscellaneous museum exhibits.
What little is known rests in the name we've chosen to give it. The 'TOS Data Tape Reader' does just that. It accepts the square shaped data tapes which are commonly used to store information and displays it's contents on the tiny screen for personal use. (Not that this stopped background actors from trying to use it as a hand-held scanner! Whoops!)
This model is fairly basic. It has the ability to be switched on and off as well as the ability to change out the data tapes by clicking on the one slotted above the viewer. Four colors of data tapes are available as well as an "empty" or transparent option. (Please note that this model does not have a functioning screen and that changing tapes in no way changes the default screen texture.)
Also included is an extra copy of the Data Tape Reader with a very generic holding script. Luckily the entire unit is modable allowing you to make any changes you see fit for whatever purpose you may wish to use it for.
Please be advised that while this is not specifically a part of the Crappy product line, it is Crappy-adjacent. This means it was stored in a location containing Crappy branded products which have not been proven to spread or infect other products in a laboratory setting. Those with allergies to our products may be fine but should be cautious. We at Knights Memorial are not responsible for allergic reactions or disruptions in the gravitational field caused by improper use. Always see a physician before use. Remember, they cannot hurt you unless you hurt them first. Please use responsibly.
