Hello and thank you for taking interest in an Ancient Designs product!
This is a sculpted object (no flat alpha layer textures involved) that uses detailed wood and bone textures to give the Tzompantli a realistic and scary look. The primcount is a result of each skull being a separate sculpted object - as a result I made both a 35 prim version as well as a 12 prim version for those with smaller parcels or those who are already short on prims.
This object will add a feel of realism to any mesoamerican or precolumbian-themed sim. It can also be a great roleplay prop, as well as serve for a nice halloween, postapocalyptic or other scary decor.
A tzompantli or skull rack is a type of wooden rack or palisade documented in several Mesoamerican civilizations, which was used for the public display of human skulls, typically those of war captives or other sacrificial victims. The word itself comes from the nahuatl (aztec) language.
The skull rack h\served both a religious, as well as propaganda and prestige purpose in precolumbian cultures. It was a sign of both religious devotion and success in warfare.
Enjoy!
