Vacuum Tubes (MESH, 2 Prims!) Electronic & Aetheric Version 2.0

(REPLACES prim based tubes, saves 10 prims! First and only mesh vacuum tubes on the marketplace and lowest prim count)

These are of course, very simple vacuum tube valves. The configuration is that of a diode where the cathode core doubles as the heater to produce the effect. The second type is of the fictional "Aetheric" variety whose function is largely open to interpretation. This design has two pins (for a total of four) for the mesh plate for the appearance of physical stability but is not required for operation.

This item is 100% MESH and thus requires a mesh compatible viewer (3.x or equivalent TPV) to view and use. I debugged the LOD to a reasonable level, so if you see a colourful cube, turn up your object LOD in your graphics preferences. Also, the filaments glow, so best to have shaders on for maximum wow-factor :).

A word of warning: Vacuum tubes are generally considered to be the product of the early 20th century. Although Thomas Edison had a patent for them as early as the 1880s, he was unsure of its function. For historical/steampunk sims they are right on the cusp of allowable technology, with various people having argued either way as to whether they should be allowed. If you are in a historical/steampunk sim be sure to check with people before releasing them into the wild. I have made them deliberately large and clunky to suit a new, untested technology. You may, of course, resize them as you wish.

All of my products are sold Copy/Modify/No Transfer to allow maximum customizability and enjoyment of your purchase. Go ahead and feel free to change the textures and modify the scripts - just be sure to work on a copy :)

Modifications (IMPORTANT):
ALWAYS WORK ON A COPY. This item is fully modifiable so you may resize, reconfigure and re-texture to your heart's content. The scripts will work independent of link number, so you can remove, add or re-link the set without affecting the proper function of the script. The script itself is public domain so feel free to modify, share or create derivative works from it.

The unit consists of two linked meshes: the outer shell and the inner components. They cannot be delinked and modified independently but can be resized and retextured (use "select face" for each piece). The glow, light and fullbright parameters can be changed by editing the scripts in the appropriate piece.

How to make them 1-Prim
- make a COPY (i will not replace botched edits)
- set the tube in whichever state you wish to display (as it will not change after these modifications)
- Right-click, edit, edit linked parts
- Open the contents tab and delete all scripts and sounds
- Select the inside parts by clicking on the electrodes at the bottom
- Delete the script in the contents tab
- Congratulations! You now have a 1-Prim tube!
