During the cold war, the American government decided to have a large number of fallout shelters in case of thermonuclear war. These were placed inside or under everyday buildings. A stock of supplies meant to last for years was also stashed there.. food, survival supplies, rations, sanitation kits, radiation detection kits. All the stuff you need to stay alive for a couple of days.
Now in sl, lifelike replica's of the boxes and containers used by the civil defense people to stockpile these shelters...
