True story. When I was a young adult a teenage boy tried to teach me how to skateboard. I fell flat - literally. I have never been able to skateboard.
Until NOW!
I must confess, this may well be the last thing I ever make on SL because I'm having so much fun with it I can barely stay off of it. My chief Mad Scientist was quite fussy with me over this and scolded me harshly. Then our entire team began riding them. And one day the chief Mad Scientist slipped on one sitting in the middle of the dojo and he was hooked, too.
So - if you don't see any additional Wingsong products made you'll know why!
This skateboard is based loosely on hovermobiles. That's why it's a little higher off the ground than a regular skateboard. As we experimented, we found that scripting it too near the ground reduced its OFF (this is a technical term, and stands for Overall Fun Factor, which is one of the primary benchmarks for our Wingsong doodads).
The engine is high tech physics, resulting in a challenging, enormously addicting board. It is fast enough to handle steep hills and obstacles of many types, while not being so ridiculously flat as to leave you on your bottom parts while it races three sims ahead. The maneuverability is exquisite.
But seriously, when you start calling into work sick because you can't quit riding your Wingsong Skateboard, don't blame me!
The board is made of a high sheen, futuristic triditanoonium, which is, as you know, quite rare. We were able to trade three Wingsong Turkeys, a Wingsong Flubber Car, seventeen Wingsong Hot Air Balloons (a total of 4 different versions), and I can't remember what else to get a small amount of triditanoonium and it was just perfect for the skateboard. The wheels are just some extras we had hanging in the barn that we sanded down and repainted.
This is a RIDE version of the skateboard. You can fit at least one passenger on it, which is loads of fun - except that that one passenger will scream most of the time.
We also make a wearable attachment version of our Wingsong skateboard available separately at our Marketplace store.
