There are all sorts of teleporters in the world. Some are VERY complex, some are quite simple with no bells or whistles. When we decided to build a teleporter here at the Wingsong Dojo we wanted to make something a little unique but without too much laggy bells and whistles. We wanted it to be inexpensive, versatile, easily adaptable to YOUR land, easy to use, and only one prim. And we wanted it to be FUN.
The Wingsong Teleporter Taxi and Visitors Log is all of this!
HOW TO USE and FEATURES
1 - REZ your teleporter taxi onto land for which you have perms. You must have at least TWO (naturally), so for your convenience we're including two of them. You'll need to change their descriptions as described in the setup instructions below. Be sure all your teleporters are positioned in the same region. You can have a maximum of 12 teleporter taxis set out.
2 - Setup is very easy, and you only have to do it once with each teleporter. After you've set out your teleporter, right click and select EDIT. On the GENERAL tab you'll see a text box just under the name Wingsong Teleporter Taxi and Visitors Log called "Description." In the Description Box write a unique name of the location of the teleporter; each teleporter you set out should have it's own name.
For example, you might have a teleporter on the ground and another in your skybox, so the ground one might say "Ground." And predictably, the skybox's description might be, you know, Skybox. But you can name your descriptions just about anything you want.
Some teleporters get a little bogged down with blacklists and white lists. We've decided to keep this tp system very simple and mostly open, so we haven't go to any great lengths to limit traffic to group members or others except in one regard. To prevent anyone else from using your teleporter taxi to get to a location, put a "~" in front of the description name.
3 - To use your teleporter taxi, right click on the teleporter and select TAXI! from the menu. If you only have two teleporters set out you will automatically be transported to the other teleporter. If you have 3 to 12 teleporters set out, a popup menu will appear listing the various locations which you've set up. Click on the location you want to go to.
4 - We've included one of our favorite original Wingsong animations in the teleporting system. You can easily modify this by deleting this animation from your Content Tab and dragging your own animation from your inventory into the Content Tab.
5 - When you or your guests select Teleport you'll here the Roadrunner's famous "Beep-Beep!" You can change this sound by deleting it and dragging your own sound clip into the Content Tab. If you don't want a sound, just delete the one I've preinstalled in the Content Tab.
VISITORS LOG
Your Wingsong Teleporter Taxi and Visitors Log does double duty as a private, respectful monitor of visitors. This is very helpful for you to get a sense of traffic to various locations on your property.
