BACK STORY
"A lot of the town guards were kitted-out with a hodge-podge of tactical gear and hunting garb. Military equipment came at a premium, and most places made do with what they could source elsewhere. Make no mistake though, a bullet from a hunting rifle and one a military-grade assault rifle will both kill you the same."
CONTROLS
The weapon uses standard mouselook controls with arrow keys. The weapon is semi-automatic by default (1 shot fire per mouse-click), but can be set to burst-fire (3 to 4 shots per mouse click).
The weapon is magazine-fed. Upon emptying the magazine, click again to reload, or use the reload gesture. You don't have to reload to swap ammo types.
Firing continuously will degrade accuracy, pausing fire will gradually return accuracy to normal. Various attachments will affect performance aspects such as reload time, accuracy, and special abilities. You can also modify specific handling attributes such as bullet velocity and fire mode.
A number of quick keys are built into the weapon controls. Pressing left and right simultaneously will reload. Pressing forward and backward simultaneously will melee.
IN THE BOX
Included with the item:
-The rifle itself
-A holstered version of the rifle
-The Hunting Carbine user manual
-A set of gestures for quick-keys
RE-SIZING
Both the rifle and its holster can be re-sized to fit the user. The holster is mod, and can be scaled freely. The rifle itself can be sized incrementally using the 'Scale' command. Both the rifle and its holster will automatically update themselves after scaling to ensure attachments and moving parts function properly. Avoid unlinking or re-naming any parts, as this can cause the script to animate on the wrong parts.

not bad
its a nice build. verry solid. my only complaint is the scope it uses is a huge telescopic sight for such a small gun lol. would love to see a smaller scope added and maybe some post apocalyptic friendly skins like on the FN-FAL besides that i love it.
make a full sized M14!! :D
Solid platform - Still leaves a little to be desired.
I purchased this rifle a while back for an RP sim I frequent, when I needed a decent semi-auto rifle to complement my loadout. Having purchased the M24 before this one, I unpacked it expecting to have the same / similar animations that the M24 had, including a full-body stand, run, prone, etc.
However, I was a bit disappointed to find out that the weapon itself had maybe -half- of those animations, lacked a proper standing animation (It only has a weapon hold), no run animation, and the prone animation is lackluster at best.
Then again, everything else seemed fine in my book. The model looks great, the options are decent...I'm just disappointed at the lack of animations. This would make a great combat rifle, but in RP scenarios where it's more about looking cool than firing the weapon...I'd suggest either picking up a separate rifle AO, or picking a weapon with better animations, like the M24.
The virtual Mini-14
Compared to the real life version, its always going to leave a little more desired.
However, its features, and its options do lack in some cases, but why would you really need them?
Sure a folding stock is cool, but is it truly practical? all the rails and such are nice, but in the end, this rifle will still reach out and touch what you deem a threat.
Personally this nails the essence of the real thing. its not flashy, its not "new" looking, infact its a scaled down version of the full size M-14 essentially. originally designed to complete with the M-16. You can't ask for much more for the price, lets be fair, sure people expect some tacticool bull crap with every weapon, but honestly why would you bother with something that was designed to be rugged and functional enough as is?
Alright, buuuut.....
Honestly this thing could use some more features, like a larger magazine, more skins, maybe tactical rails and more scope options. Overall not too bad.
