This is the second fantasy/hobbit house built following the same style. Whilst doors and windows are circular the fantasy theme fits scenarios including or excluding hobbits.
The door is menu driven to include access by group, individual, owner or named avatar. Mouse pointer over the door and when the hand appears drag down to show the menu. For named avatars you will find a NC in the door itself which must be modified - instructions are provided.
The kitchen is fully furnished and includes an opening oven door. Cabinets are in fine detail with open drawers and doors to add a "lived in" appearance.
Leading from both the kitchen and the lobby area is the main living room. The novel feature here is a raised area over the fire and wood store designed to fit a bed. With the fire blazing it's easy to imagine the "toasty" feeling around that bed.
Please note the bed displayed is NOT included in the sale. It is simply there to give you an idea of size when in position. Easy access up the stairs and space to move around with free camera angles.
The main living area at ground level is large enough to accommodate the usual seating and other furniture. Logs are piled in the store for the log fires in both this area and the kitchen.
The house is intended to provide a compact integrated space for living. The included rustic table and chairs fit nicely on the "terrace" area outside and are lit by the wall mounted lamp. Purple foxgloves in the small terrace garden and on the mound complete the picture.
The footprint as supplied is approximately 25 m by 28 m. LI at that size is 98.
Customers have often asked if a home can be re-sized. The answer in this case is yes - and included in the build is a special re-sizing script.
When you place your mouse over the build a menu appears. You may re-size (smaller or larger) and when happy the script can be deleted from the menu.
Changes in size are approximately as shown below:
100% 98 LI and footprint of 25 * 28.
90% 85 LI and footprint of 22 * 25
80% 72 LI and footprint of 20 * 22
70% 61 LI and footprint of 18 * 20
At 70% the circular door openings are approximately 2 m in diameter. The physics will allow a taller avatar to pass through all doors BUT s/he will appear to walk through the top of the door opening.
Lastly since many people will be making their home fit existing land textures the mound is a complete mesh object that may be re-textured simply by dragging a new texture onto it. For those wishing to retain shadows the UV and the AO maps are both provided, so too the original grass texture.
This home, and the other similar design, followed conversations with a customer. If you would care to make suggestions for future builds then please feel free to do so.
NP Please note that in common with all builds the scripts are copy only. The house will appear as no-modify but all the mesh and textures can be changed.
