Not getting the full use out of your gadgets because you can't remember all those pesky commands?
Just plain tired of typing things like: /1 hug Pale Spectre?
Wish you had an easy to use menu-driven interface instead?
The Universal Control Device is not trivial. This free, try-before-you-buy, demo example of the Universal Control Device is designed to give you a very small taste of the convenience it can add to your SL experience.
The function of this demo example is fixed and cannot be altered. The demo shows how the Universal Control Device can be used to control various scripted devices:
An AO based on the Framination Overrider script (AO script not included).
Open chat emotes.
A Hug script (standard hug scripts and hug animation included).
A simple Expressions Animation script (the Animation script is included with full perms and will trigger all of SL's 31 built-in 'express' animations).
The demo also includes the new Targeting system (in this example it is set up to work with the Hug script).
The full versions can be configured to control numerous such devices as outlined below:
The Universal Control Device is a HUD mounted, all-in-one, fully customisable, menu interface. It can be configured to have up to 10 menus operating on 10 different channels. It will replace any command (of up to 24 characters) that you would normally type, with a corresponding menu option.
The menus can be fully structured with sub-menus, organised by gadget, or channel, as you please.
Each menu can have a user-defined title.
Each menu can use a different channel.
Each menu can carry up to a total of 12 command options and links to other menus.
There are two full versions available. UCD Classic and UCD with Targeting. The original Classic version does not support the Targeting system.
This is not a hack, or a trick, or an exploit. The menus are dynamically created according to a user configuration and will work just as if they had been included with whatever products you already use. The Universal Control Device can be reconfigured at any time your needs or gadgets change.
The Universal Control Device will control any product over which you have legitimate rights by adding a menu interface where otherwise you would have to type commands.
