How many scripted objects are on your land? Where are they? How many scripts are in them? How much script memory are they using? How much script time are they using?

If you have owner abilities on your sim, you can get the answers to some of those questions. If you don't have access to the Top Scripts tools, though, it's very hard to get answers to any of them. That's what this scan tool is made for. Whether you are looking for a lost object or trying to tell how scripted objects may be affecting sim performance, Script Scan makes the job easy.

Script Scan is very simple to use. It's a colorful, one-prim object. Rez it anywhere and click to start. A dialog menu will ask whether you want to look only for your own scripted objects, or for ones that belong to another specific person, or whether you want to find all scripted objects within range. Make your selection and the scan begins.

Script Scan performs multiple narrow scans, twisting through a complex set of rotations to look for all scripted objects within 60m. It then makes vertical 60m jumps, repeating its scans at each elevation until it reaches 4096m. If it sees the same object in more than one scan, it filters out duplicates. When it has reached 4096m, it returns to its starting point and prompts you to ask for a full report. Type the request and a listing of all detected items appears in chat (See pic accompanying this listing.).

Your full report includes the total number of objects detected, the number of scripts, the total script memory, and the total script time used. For each object, you also get
* The object's name
* Its precise location coordinates
* The number of scripts it contains
* The amount of memory allocated to its use, in bytes
* The amount of script time that it is using, in seconds

When you have received your report, the Script Scan clears its memory and is ready for use again.
