Ballinger's Cavendish House is based on a RL 18th Century house constructed outside London for Lord Burlington, as a repository for his great art collection and a place to entertain.

As was normal then, the primary rooms were located upstairs, or the first floor, while more intimate rooms were on the ground floor.

Up the sweeping stairs at the entrance front, enter through the columned portico to a large Vestibule, to the right of which is a room that could be used as a Bedroom. Continuing ahead, you enter the great Octagonal Dome Salon with its 14m high ceiling in the center of the house. From this radiate most of the important rooms, including the 3 Drawing Rooms in enfilade, the Green Salon, the Red Salon and the Blue Velvet Room with a Study off it. The central Salon has access to a Balcony with access down to the gardens.

Returning to the Vestibule, descend the stairs to arrive at the family entrance. Flanking this left and right are two Bedrooms, one of which is set up as the State Bedroom with ensuite. Further, the Octagonal Hall leads into a Bedroom on one side and a Sitting Room on the other, both with private entrances. Ahead lie the three sections of the Library: one octagonal with bookcases, and two oval, one having windowed alcoves. From the central oval room, you can enter the Garden Entrance, then beyond to the gardens.

Included in the house are 4 fireplaces.

I hope you enjoy your new home as much as I enjoyed building it for you
