Welcome to the “Mercury”, a corvette or "sloop'o'war" as might have been seen in service to the navies, traders and privateers of the 18th and 19th century. It is no particular historical ship but rather a unique design inspired by its ancestry.
You can walk around the main deck, quarterdeck and forecastle. The sitter system allows you to take the helm as well as many other positions around the ship, including gunner, rigging, captain's cabin and bedplace and many more. While only the helmsman can control the rudder, other crewmembers can trim, set and clew the sails or operate the artillery. You can crew-operate the ship or fully control it solo.
The "Mercury" is brought to life by a new, unique and highly realistic sailing engine, intended to simulate the experience of handling a square rigger. The entire ship is made of handcrafted and all original design.
The sail trim does not only affect the propulsion, but the torque/turning too. It is possible to steer the ship by sails only, as you could do on a real-world full-rigged ship. Furthermore, each sail can be set and clewed individually, giving you full control of the sheet. Wind direction and speed can be set much like in other engines and you can also use WWC wind setting. Real world tallship sailors have described the engine as "just like the real thing".
The ship uses its own unique combat system - it is not SPD compatible! We decided against using SPD and in favor of creating our own system for the fact that our approach does not require you to be in a rez enabled area to work, so you can fight anywhere.
Furthermore you can:
- Transfer the main HUD to friends and get a crew together.
- Christen the ship and create your own nameplate for it.
- Control the ship's livery with the new Appearance HUD.
- Choose your flag or fly your own.
- Updated the Pose Engine.
- Appearance HUD now lets you animate your own flags.

Best there is for tall ship sailors
For all sailors who like a challenge in realistic sailing on tall ship this is a must have. Mastering this ship is a learning curve but once you know how to deal with all its features , you can experiment with sparring with other sailors, and get the impression how tall ship battles are on ships with mostly square sails. Very challenging is set up a route, try a sailing race and change wind settings to experiment how the ship responds. Its sailing behavior also changes when being damaged and many more details are added in the ships sailing behavior while sailing under different circumstances. Well built and scripted ship. As being sailed on Belliseria seas , we did not crash often on sim borders and mostly good responding on HUD as well. Thank you for the hours of fun we had mastering the NK ships.
A masterpiece!
The corvette, along with the other N+K ships certainly does set the bar for sailing. The realism and complexity behind how this ship moves should impress any sailing enthusiast! With practice, once you learn what sail does what, you can pull off some fantastic manoeuvres.
The HUD to sail her is easy to use and the note card manual is very informative on what each function does, even providing youtube videos on how the sailing or tacking in a ship like this works. The appearance HUD, like the other N+K ships is also very easy to use, giving you the ability to change your nation flag, paint your ship and even change the ship name at the stern of the ship.
The damage system is fun and well balanced too. While not quite as powerful as the Frigate, when sailed right, this ship can deal quite a punch! With the ability to battle in places like the Blake or so, due to it's none-rez combat system. But be careful, once your hull health hits zero you will sink, be it by cannon ball or shallow water damaging your hull!
A must have for any sailing or history enthusiast! 5 stars!

Great ship, just amazing try a demo and you'll see. It does not have GTFO support so there is even that. Wish I could mod it to add my own touches but wont mark it down because I knew this going in. 5 Stars!
Really great for midsize sailing
The size is not too big, nor not too small for people who wanna sail a big yet easily controllable ship. There is no complaints that i can think or seen on this ship or any N+K ship so far. Nice realism for sailing. can get damaged if it hits things and pretty fun to control!
Boat is Fanastic - Its very realistic and very smoot in sim crossings - NO GTFO boat.

I have to say this boat is really fantastic. The sim crossings are very smooth and nice. Its a lot of prims so i was amazed how smooth the sim crossing goes with that amount of prims. The canons are very neat and pretty cool and those work. Not to forget the sails and the wind settings. Those are tricky and difficult as it should be. Sailing is not easy and never should be. You need to learn how the wind settings in combination with the sails work. Its not easy but for me the best part of the boat. I like a challenge, still learning (lol). So if you are looking for the best sail boat on LL, for me this is the one.
The downside, yes there is always one....the boat can not do GTFO. Yes it has the GTFO vapi codes in the database of GTFO. I have tried with the creator to add the VAPI codes and the script of GTFO. Somehow, for some strange weird reason the boat is not accepting the GTFO script. This is really to sad. I do actually GTFO runs only so i will not use this boat a LOT so thats why this is really a bummer for me. The creator has tried to to her best to add the script and the vapi code into the contents of the boat but somehow it does not wants to add those. Else the boat could be use for GTFO, Now would that not be a fantastic PLUS. That would make the boat totally complete but i have to say, the creator did do her best to help. So its really sad for me i can not use it for GTFO.
So if you are looking for a fantastic amazing sailboat and you do not care about GTFO....you need to get this boat....it gives you hours, days, weeks and months of pleasure and the design is really amazing.
Final word to the creator: Thanks for trying to add the gtfo script and the vapi into the contents of the boat, to bad the boat did not accept or was not possible to add the script in there. At least we tried.
