Note:
This is 1LI* (it takes only 1 prim from yours land) 1 prim multiface mesh item.
It has WORKING CLOCK with every hour sound and slight sound every minute for minute clock hand.
By default CLOCK shows time for GMT +4:00 (it because I live in this time zone). You can adjust it to yours zone, just enter edit mode of clock, Content, and rename notecard "+4" to yours time zone. For example it can be "-11", or "0". Hovering text above clock shows what time zone you choose. I do think it pretty useful in SL as we are from different countries.
Clock hands of course animated and moving showing current for yours zone. There are four clock but all showing the same time.
This item is multiface mesh. You can apply 5 different textures on it (overal 8 to adjust, but three, clock hands and clock face, are special so better do not change texture on face and hands). ANY texture you have in inventory will suit decoration of clock, without need to create special textures like for most meshes and sculpts in SL. It gives you variety of choice to customize clock the way you want. I already included 5 different ways of textured clocks to show you ability of this mesh, textures were randomly chosen from regular textures I have in inventory.
Script engine is custom written by me. It is very few lines script and it takes only 6KB of memory, working every 60 seconds to change a time.
This mesh has physics. To reduce loading sim it is a simple flat vertical surface over whole clock. If you will resize it bigger number or prims taken from land will increase.
How to use:
- Just rez. Script automatically reset and start working.
Caveats:
- This is mesh item, and required to use mesh enabled viewer. LL official viewer and all V3 code based Third Party Viewers are mesh enabled. If you have old computer that is not supported by official LL viewer with not supported videocard, try to use Singularity viewer. It based on V1 code viewer but supports mesh and many other features from V3 code.
* 1LI in current size. If you increase it size, number of prims taken from land can increase greatly. For example 2 times resizing will take 8 prims e.t.c. It is how SL works with mesh. And only very simple mesh shapes may not much influence on resizing.
- Change texture? Select face at drag and drop texture you want from inventory on this face. (It is basic building skill, if you not sure what is written here, join any building group in SL and take lesson for applying texture on simple object. It is absolutely the same to apply different textures to each side of simple cube, Also you can ask yours more experienced friends to consult you.) Requires ability to operate SL cam (Alt+Left mouse=rotate, Alt+Mouse Wheel=zoom).
- Item is modify, but as inside NO modify script it shows that it is not modify. It is how SL shows complex permissions of object if inside this object scripts or textures or notecards. Just rez item and you will see it is modify.
- It tested with high and low LODs at distance. Works fine. It does not force to stay the same LOD at distance to prevent be high prim and wasting region resources. As it supposed to be working It logically reduce details depends on distance to object, it is idea on how greatly reduce lags as to sim the same as to yours videocard rendering. This is how any computer game work and that is how it supposed to be working by LL, and I am absolutely supporting it.
