Alien Zoo [24 prims]
We have used the latest tech to construct a fully-functioning Alien Zoo, where living specimens of lifeforms from across the known planetary systems can be observed and studied. The zoo can generate complete alien habitat ecosystems and fill them with various exotic lifeforms by simply choosing the options from the menu.
Features include:
- Large environmental module surrounded by a 360 degrees viewing area.
- Powerful, low-lag, ecosystem generator
- Five different zoo systems
- Live specimens, roaming creatures, swimming fish, moving tentacles
- Sound, light, particle effects
Zoo environments included:
- Aquarium
- Swamplands
- Rock Beast
- Prehistoric Sharks
- Holding Cell
The ecosystem habitat container has a corridor that runs around the entire circumference to give you a full view to your specimens. There's a local teleport in the corridor that gives you access to the upper maintenance area. From here, you can safely look down into the container. If you're brave enough, you can even plunge into the waters of the aquarium ecosystem and swim with the fishes. (simply jump in & switch to "fly"). Just stay clear of anything with teeth or tentacles.)
When you make a selection, a large data info-poster appears on a wall behind the ecosystem controls.
When you select a habitat, it will rezz some prims, & the sizes are specified in the list below. The environment control menu has an option to clear away any current materials and leave you with an empty zoo chamber.
Aquarium: [23 prims]
From the teeming waters on Skene's Planet
Once you select the aquatic ecosystem, circular glass walls will appear and fill with water, plants and rocks. Then, the fish begin to appear... These exotic alien fish-creatures all have moving fins and tentacles, and swim randomly around the huge glass container. You can watch them swim, fight, shoal & spawn. They're an inquisitive bunch & often swim up to the curved borosilicate plasti-glass walls for a good look at you.
Swamplands: [8 prims]
From the foetid swamplands of the planet Mir Lana
This ecosystem has a thick bed of shrubs and trees in a swampland covered in moving sludge. If you're quiet & wait, creatures will appear in the undergrowth & begin to move about. There's giant spiders, scorpions, bugs, huge roaches and things that looks like crocodiles. They may even attack each other, rearing up out of the swamp as then collide angrily. Listen carefully and you'll hear them roaring. You can enter the enclosure, but be careful - these things can be dangerous.
Rock Beast: [14 prims]
From the Nisioh-Adnerb Nebula
This specimen is an Arcturian Rock Beast from one of the moons in the Outer Rim of the Galaxy. This ecosystem replicates one of the moon's boulder-strewn craters, home to the legendary Rock Beast. It has bulging luminous eyes and thick tentacles that operate independently to scoop food into its mouth. It also emits a paralysing gas that you'll see drifting over the rocks.
Prehistoric Sharks: [21 prims]
From the megalithic planet Rekcil of the Siro-Tilc system
These prehistoric, megalithic sharks are free to swim around the water-filled container. There's three different kinds of shark and they're all mean beasts. They'll swim up to the glass sides of the container and stare at you & you know what they're thinking. Don't be tempted to simply take the teleporter to the upper maintenance area & plunge into the waters to join them. If you do, you may find yourself part of the collection of bones and skulls that you can see littering the seabed. As a precaution the upper access to the waters is automatically sealed with an electrified plasma grid when the sharks are in.
Holding Cell:
This is a secured hi-tech containment cell designed to hold specimens for study that are just too dangerous to allow to roam free. This one contains an Urtucan Stalk, a sentient creature with waving mandibles and a swivelling eyeball that can drive you insane if you stare at it. Don't worry, the cell's glass walls have built-in filters, so you're safe to look. It's eye will occasionally flicker around and it's even been known to swallow its own eyeball, but don't be fooled, it's still watching you...
Add your own ecosystems! Yes, you can add your own environments to the Alien Zoo. We've included a Builder's Guide to adding extra environments. But be aware that it's not for amateurs, you will need to know what you're doing.
This module is part of the Exosphere Starbase range, so you will be able to connect it to any of your existing Starbase builds by touching the door frames. Of course, you can put it anywhere, including a sim surface.
All the Exosphere starbase modules can easily be joined together by simply touching their bulkhead door frames. They'll move themselves into place and align themselves automatically.
