Italian for "adventure", she is a sloop classed Medium sized merchant ship built specifically for SPD ship to ship combat.
Based on ships from Southern Europe (the city states of Italy, southern France, and even the Greek isles) the "tartana" style ships were a blend of the best of Europe and Arabia. They were the first European Ships to use the "lateen" style sail which allowed them to sail very close to the wind, yet were built heavily with an internal framework of ribs, battens, and fasteners for strength.
Being Double Ended, they were unique in that they could handle strong seas while reaching or running, a good thing as the land surrounding the Mediterranean could bring strong and unpredictable storms in winter, and hot fierce winds in summer. It also helped that in ship combat the "transom" of a ship was always it's weakest point, it allowed a cannonball to travel the entire ship's length, causing a great deal of damage and havoc as it passed. The Tartana design is safe from that design flaw.
The Avventura itself is design as a medium fast ship, but not a very maneuverable one. That large powerful sail allows her to catch every last bit of air, but also makes the ship somewhat unwieldy to tack or change direction. As she is not a "warship" her crew would not be used to abrupt maneuvers to gain a good angle to fire her cannon.
As a Sloop classed Merchant ship, she carries three guns, One in the bow "chaser" position and one per side for a broadside attack. Twenty hit points separate her from sinking, and multiple hits will slow her down until incapacitated at three and finally sunk at zero.
Avventura has been a fun ship to develop and build, I hope you have as much fun sailing her (especially since she's free!) as I had building and designing her.

Don't let the size fool you
This boat may seem small and only for travel and some defense, but if you get one you will see that it is not small at all, in fact it is quite spacious, it is well elaborated, simple but functional, to test and navigate it is not bad .

A fab starter ship and much more
With 3 hand cannon and a decent hp you are ready for a nippy battle . This would be worth every penny if on-sale and this creator prices her ships reasonably . Beyond a bargain and easy to customise ,also .
Beautiful little ship and fun to sail
I don't battle, but I do love to sail! The detail on this boat is just beautiful, too. This was my first boat from this creator, and now I'm encourage to buy at least a couple more. Well done!
