Libertà: /liber’ta/ Italian for "Liberty" or "freedom". This true Medium Sized ship from Black Rose Ship yards has been some time in the making, but we think she will be well worth the wait.
Reworked from the keel up, The Libertà refit now takes up considerably less Land Impact, We put her on a serious diet, cutting out heavy prims and mesh pieces alike to bring her current fighting weight down by over half. We also made her faster all around instead of only quick when running to weather. We feel this makes her an all around much better ship, able to go toe to toe with anything in her weight class or beyond
Lacking jibs, libertà is not as fast into the wind or as maneuverable as previous ships from the Black Rose yard, she makes up for it with two extra guns tucked up under the stern platform for a little surprise for any ships trying to sneak up on her from behind.
Based on ships from Southern Europe (the city states of Italy, southern France, and even the Greek isles) the "tartana" style ships were a blend of the best of Europe and Arabia. They were the first European Ships to use the "lateen" style sail which allowed them to sail very close to the wind, yet were built heavily with an internal framework of ribs, battens, and fasteners for strength.

Another fine ship .....
A good battle cruiser with top sails for increased speed and reverse when in the irons . The creator is super helpful and passionate about her craft , I highly recommend this fine ship .
