Ballinger's Monticello used the original floorplans, except for storage closets. Many of the textures are taken from the real house and others have the same or similar colours.

Entering through the front portico, you find yourself in the 2 story Entrance Hall, with its wrap-around balcony that connects the two wings. Directly ahead is the 2 story Music Room, flanked on one side by the 2 story Dining and Tea Rooms, and on the other byw story Jefferson's Bedroom, with it's bed alcove, Study and upstairs room. Both the Dining and Jefferson's bedroom have Skylights.
Also on the ground floor are the double Library, two Piazzas and 3 Bedrooms, the papered one of which was reserved for visits from President Madison.
The second floor has 4 Bedrooms, one of which has the flooring from Martha Jefferson's room, a Stores Room and a hidden room. Added were 2 bathrooms in place of storage closets.
The third floor consists of 3 Bedrooms that were occupied by his grandsons and the octagonal Ballroom. Off this is the small,unfinished room called 'The Cubby', where the Jefferson ladies used to escape to to avoid the chaos in the rest of the house. [It's said that up to 30 family members lived in the house at any one time.]
The owner can reset the doors to open manually and to extend or shorten the time they stay open, plus can control access.
