Home Automation - Lights Pack
"Home Automation" is a technology that allows you to easily control your home items in an automatic way. With this pack you get a number of lights/lamps and switches that control these lights using home automation technology. It is a starter pack and you can experiment with it, all items are copy/mod (only the home automation scripts are "no modify/no transfer" and the clapper HUD is "no copy").
The switches control the lights but you can easily create your own switches and switched objects using the existing lamps and switches. A special switch is the "clapper HUD" included here. When you wear it, it appears as HUD and when you click it, it switches the "Room Lamp". Watch and enjoy!
Please see the other packs for more compatible items. Also look at the controller packs, that allow you to control the items by menu or even by HUD.

What is Home Automation
Home automation is a real-life technology that lets you control items in your home automatically. Examples are window blinds that open or close automatically at a defined time of day, or lights that switch on or off depending on the outside light. Another example is a control, that automatically lowers the blinds, dims the lights and switches on some soft music when you get into the mood.
The Lights pack brings this technology to SL. It is a starter pack to give you an impression of the possibilities. Please look at the other packs or the demo in my store. The Home Automation technology used in these items is a sophisticated script library, taking care of all the subtleties for you.
In general (with the exception of special purpose items) there are two types of items:
- devices - things that "do" stuff, like lights, doors, windows etc
- switches - items that "control" stuff, i.e. make devices "do" things, like switching on, opening etc.
The following types of items are in this pack:
- On/off devices - simply a light or effect or anything that can be switched on or off
- On/off switches - a switch that allows to switch devices on or off. To use it, click on it. This one comes in a number of flavours:
- the default (grey) on/off switch is as you probably have in your home for lights.
- It also comes in a version that listens on channel 1 (see "Wall Indirect light - on/off w/ listen")
- The HV switch looks like an old manually driven high voltage switch
- There also is a HV switch with sound effect
- The ball on/off switch is a coloured half orb you can click.
- Toggle devices - a device that has no on or off state, but simply performs an action when triggered
- Toggle switches - when you click on it, this switch triggers a "toggle device" or toggles an on/off device from on to off, and from off to on
There are these flavours included:
- The default toggle switch simply triggers toggle devices, or lets on/off devices change from on to off and vice versa
- There also is a version that additionally listens on channel 1 (see "Wall Indirect light - toggle switch with listen")
- The toggle switch can be configured to always switch an on/off device on, or always switch it off. This is done
in "Wall Indirect light on toggle" and "Wall Indirect light off toggle".
- The ball toggle switch is a coloured half orb you can click.
- Multi switches - a special switch to work with on/off as well as toggle devices. It is different in that it allows
to handle device options as well. When you click on it, it shows a menu with the possible actions.
Some lights have options for transparency (when off), glow, or colour
- HA Locator - this device allows you to locate and reset home automation items
All switches feature a texture (or colour for ball switches) effect.
Veja o item no Second LifeAwesome System !!
I have been looking for a system like this for a long time. Easy to setup, easy to use, simple to control Plus it all looks so good. Its nice to see a creator actually taking the time to create items that genuinely look like they should. Now I can open my workshop AND switch the lights and effects on from one easy to use menu. I can also place the scripts into my own builds for my own use which means I can setup everything just the way I want it.
Awesome system, Awesome value..
