Use this decontamination tunnel to control access to your medical bay or surgery. Make sure that all the quarantined alien spores don't spread! Keep your off-world viruses under strict lock-down!
When you walk down the tunnel, you're forced to wait for a few seconds in the middle while scanners decontaminate your body with surges of electricity. or plasma grids. Once you've been decontaminated, you will be allowed to pass. The process only takes a couple of seconds, but it may save your Second Life!
The Decontamination Tunnels will trigger a scan whichever direction you walk through them. Once the scan has been triggered, the animated scanner screens will continue to scan for a minute or two but will eventually go away on their own - no need to delete them.
The Long Decontamination Tunnel: (10m length, 13 prims)
This is a long tunnel with a central scanner. There are sliding glass doors at both ends and the doors can be locked for an extra level of security. Walking through will activate the scanners as you pass the centre of the tunnel. You'll see bolts of electricity sweep up your body, forcing you to wait for a few seconds while you're scanned. Then will you will be allowed to walk on through to the end of the tunnel. Just keep trying to walk through the scan.
The Short Link Decontamination Unit (5.5 meters, 6 prims)
As you pass through the short link tunnel, an animated plasma grid will appear, forcing you to wait for a few seconds while you're scanned. Just keep trying and walk through it to allow it to decontaminate you.
Great for Role Play
You can even attach these tunnels to your Security Section and use them as security scanners!
All the Exosphere starbase modules can easily be joined together by simply touching their bulkhead door frames. They'll move themselves into place and align themselves automatically.

A Good addition
I put this between the alien containment wing of my station and the rest. It is a nice addition to emphasize the RP dangers of the alien wings.
The pause while walking through the tunnel has never given me problems, at first I was worried that whatever prim was used to block movement while being scanned might malfunction under laggy conditions, but it has not.
And finally the decontamination effect looks goods.
