The purpose of this product is to promote & encourage the responsible use of green energy. It is based on the model available at: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Basic-Scooter-full-perms/5772284, and has been modified as a rechargeable electric vehicle. It is scripted to be used in conjunction with the Energy Storage System or replacement E-Batteries (see Related Items below).
The scooter comes with a charge of 3.0kWh, and consumes an idling power of 0.5kW when the owner is seated and a running power of 2.5kW when it is being driven. The energy remaining is constantly updated and announced when the owner sits on the scooter or stands up. After use, the scooter can be taken back into inventory and re-rezzed without loss of battery charge.
It has a simple sit-and-drive motion system using arrow keys for direction, PgUp/PgDown for gear change, a clickable horn, and a dialogue menu:
* Report: state energy left
* Recharge: receive daily energy allowance from the ESS
* Replace: battery replacement if ESS is unavailable
To recharge the scooter at any time, it should be positioned within 20m of the Energy Storage System, and then clicked for the menu. The ESS allowance is specified by the owner of the ESS.
The scooter has modify permission so you can change colours, textures, etc. as desired, but the scripts are no-modify.
