[Jammin] Sedimentary Cliff Set - Copy/Mod - 100% Mesh & Materials
Please Note: A full permissions version of this product is also available.
Viewing In-World is highly recommended - see the link below.
The deep time of earth's past can be seen in sedimentary rocks. Layer upon layer, built up over millions of years, then sculpted by wind and water.
Build coastal cliffs, plateaus and canyons with this set. 22 different cliff face meshes in a huge variety of shapes, and 8 capping and 'filler' meshes for blending with your terrain - or completely on their own if you don't have terraforming rights over your parcel.
Two different material/texture sets for versatility, customizable in color and specularity for a range of environments and rock types.
[Mesh]
The cliff faces come in high and low versions, with straight, bent and rounded variations. Designed to overlap with neighboring pieces, they can be squashed, stretched and rotated.
Tip: Try mixing and matching high and low pieces to create different levels of erosion and to break up long straight faces.
There are 4 different capping pieces that match the basic shapes of the cliff faces. Also included are terrain 'filler' meshes - these are the same tops as the caps, but without the rock edging and lower in LI. Working with terrain in Second Life can be frustrating, especially when you're trying to achieve a particular shape. These filler meshes can be scaled to fit the gaps in your terrain (or used without terrain at all).
Tip: If you find your feet floating above these filler meshes, consider setting a duplicate a little above the original, linking it and setting its physics shape type to 'none' or 'phantom'.
Land impact are as follows:
Short cliffs: 0.5 - 1.5
High cliffs: 1.9 - 2.3
Caps: 0.6 - 1.4
Terrain Meshes: 1 - 1.2
[Textures]
There are two texture/material sets included, one with moss and grass, the other bare rock. Both have quite light diffuse textures, enabling you to customize the color to match your environment. Specular/shine settings are likewise customizable - if you prefer a dull rock, it is recommended that you remove the specular maps completely to save texture memory.
The cap pieces have a separate texture face for the top, if you wish to use your terrain texture instead of the default. If so, be sure to remove the normal and specular maps from this face as well.
Tip: the caps and terrain meshes have been UV mapped to a 1024 high x 512 wide texture space. Therefore, if using a regular square texture you will want twice the vertical tiling versus the horizontal.
Please see the SL wiki if you require more information on materials: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Second_Life%27s_light_model_for_materials
The full perm version also contains Ambient Occlusion/shadow maps for making your own textures.

Meh?
So its not that they aren't textured well or not decently textured. There very awkward to work with. I wish the rock came up a bit more on the top so you could terraform easier with it. There pretty well made though just a pain to work with.
