The Machichaco is a beautifully turned-out yacht with sails, spinnaker, and engine. This HUD is everything you need to sail her, and nothing you don't. Sails, wind, autopilot, motor, top-down docking view, and live telemetry - all on one slim HUD.

No crew. No capsizing. No wallowing in irons. No endless tacking back and forth to claw your way upwind. Set the wind once, point your bow where you want to go, and the sails stay full as you turn. Sail to your destination in a straight line if you like.

No setup

Most sailing HUDs need a companion script dropped into your boat. The Machi HUD doesn't. The Machichaco broadcasts its own telemetry through GLW, so the HUD just works the moment you wear it and sit. No notecards, no script-dropping, no "take the boat back to inventory and rez again." Wear, sit, sail.

How it works
***************************************************

Traditional SL wind systems set the wind in world coordinates - south-westerly at 15 knots, say. The moment you turn, the wind shifts on you and the sails need re-trimming. Get it wrong and you stall, broach, or capsize.

The Machi HUD works the other way round. You set the wind angle relative to your bow - broad reach off the starboard quarter, say - and the HUD locks it there. Whatever direction you steer, the sails stay full. You go where you point.

Set wind, tap Auto Pilot once to trim, tap Auto Pilot off. Steer freely - the sails stay trimmed however you turn. You only re-trim when you change something deliberate: a new wind direction, a big change in wind speed, or raising or dropping a sail. One tap of Auto Pilot, and one tap to release.

Easy handling

The Machi HUD condenses every job onto one screen, sized so you can sail single-handed without juggling menus or remembering chat commands.

• Raise and lower the sails with one tap
• Set wind angle and speed by tapping the relevant button
• Raise the spinnaker for downwind runs
• Engage the autopilot to trim, then sail by hand
• Start the engine for leaving the dock or low-speed manoeuvring
• One-tap Moor to drop everything and return the boat to her moored state
• Switch to a top-down camera for docking, so you can see exactly where your hull sits relative to the pier
• Now includes follow-cam
• Slide the HUD off-screen for a clean view of the water

Live telemetry

Hover text above the HUD reads out live boat data, updated once per second:

Speed, heading, relative wind angle, and autopilot state. Pulled directly from the Machichaco's own GLW broadcast - no setup, no extra script.

Smart spinnaker
***************************************************

Raise the spinnaker and the wind swings to 175° automatically - almost dead aft, where the spinnaker draws best. One tap and you're flying downwind. Drop the spinnaker and the wind swings to 120˚, ready to get you moving again.

Compatibility

Purpose-built for the Machichaco yacht. Reads telemetry from the GLW broadcast and sends commands on the boat's command channel.
