The Power Consumer Unit (traditionally known as a 'fuse box') supplies electrical power from the Energy Storage System (see Related Item below) to ring circuits, enabling you to group together a number of similar devices (e.g. a set of TVs or lights). This avoids having a large number of names on the ESS hovertext, and enables you to use a single monitor to display the total power consumption for each ring.

The PCU requires the following simple preparation:
1. All devices in a ring must be within a range of 96m and named with the ring name, e.g. Lighting.
2. Each device must contain a script which puts the current power consumption in kW into its hover-text (which can be set as invisible).

The PCU can be clicked to toggle it on/off. When on, it will scan for devices in the rings within a range of 96m every 5 seconds. On each scan it will total the power consumption for each ring and communicate its requirement to the ESS, which will show the power assuming the usual 10% transmission loss. A Power Monitor can be set up to show the consumption of any ring if desired.

For power consumers currently available from this store, see Related Items below.
