Inspired by the 7.9m catamaran from Cheetah Marine, this is a small versatile catamaran intended for a variety of roles such as coastal survey, harbour master and patrolling.
It's been sensibly built to allow you to remove parts that you don't need or want so that you can modify it for crab/lobster catching, diving, fishing or just simple pleasure boating.
Like my other vehicles, it is minimally scripted and everything is there to ensure you get a reliable vehicle with a sense of the real thing. It is designed to be extremely modifiable and resilient to modding. The majority of the code can be modified too, since I believe in giving you as much flexibility for modding as I can.
So you won't find lots of features that aren't directly related to being a skipper. I don't add things that I personally would never/rarely use.
What you will find is a boat built to RL scale, with everything needed to simply go on a journey in something that looks and feels like a boat.
Briefly, the main features are:-
a) about 32/33 knot top speed in normal mode, about 41 knots in high speed mode
b) will rock about and crest off of imaginary waves when moving
c) rocking motion can be turned on/off when moored
d) an optional fuel system
e) can be guested to others
f) various moving/animated parts
g) navigation and mast lights work
h) a working light bar with a variety of colours, patterns and siren/horn sounds for people that like that sort of thing
i) and if you get it beached on land, expect it to stay there! (so don't get it beached!)
j) AVsitter ready versions are included, with a basic AVsitter installation
k) now supports the GFS fuel system
If you're taller than a RL human (about 6 feet) then you'll probably not be able to walk through the cabin door in to the cabin, the boat is rather small and SL doesn't give us the luxury of stooping to get through low doors. But the boat can be scaled up or down to fit you just fine :)
There are 2 versions included in the box, one with 2 seats and one with 4 seats. You can add/remove seats if you need to, the boat shouldn't complain.
The 2 seater was 60 land impact while the 4 seater was 62 land impact. It'll be lower now since LL changed the land impact calculation.
1.3.0 saw the addition of support for GFS and an improved AVsitter installation for modders
See the in world shop for a demo!
See item in Second Life- 100% homemade for SL, by me
- a solid vehicle for travelling the grid
- can be guested to others
- *very* modifiable, including most of the code
- includes an AVSitter enabled version
Great Work - Amazing customer service!!
Everything customizable and modfy, thats the new way for vehicles!! hope vehicles creators do the same!!
Quality craft.
Great catamaran boat. Sails well & there's a line of special paint jobs to buy as well. It would be nice if there was a low prim display model as well, but that's just a wish. Recommended buy.
The way things should be done
I fell in love with the look of the thing immediately. After buying it those feeling just went deeper. Other boat builders should take a long, hard look at how this is done. The throttle can be set as low as 1%! You don't have to charge into a slow-loading laggy sim at 6 or 7 knots because that's what the builder thinks is a good enough low-end speed. A lot of care shows in the sculpting, but the builder trusts our skills to leave all that effort modifiable. Feature rich. Low priced. I can't recommend this little vessel highly enough. Seven stars out of five
Excellent boat at the right price !
A very nice little boat, well made (beautiful mesh work and excellent boating script).
Sensations are realistic, helped by the different possible cameras (try the "loose cam", very cool).
The boat is easy and smooth to drive, fast and reactive with a pleasant swing.
The skipper HUD is complete and helpful.
I like details too. Doors and fences openable, nice horn, deck and mast lights...
Only one disapointement : the lack of poses to use when boat is moored. I don't care about sex poses, but some "sitting on the deck" or "sunbathing" poses to not be sitting at the helm only when moored would be cool. (maybe I'll try to had them by myself as the boat is mod).
Conclusion : a must-have boat, really. Quality/price ratio is very good.
