Corvo: /ˈkɔrvo/ The Italian word for crow or raven. This second Light Class Ship from Black Rose Shipyard fills the gap between the Gunboat Delfino and the Four Gun Zeffiro. Unlike her sister, Corvo has a forward firing bow chaser allowing her to chase down her prey.
With a powerful lateen rig, Corvo is fast and maneuverable little ship. In the hands of a capable Captain, she is able to deal a lot of damage to larger and seemingly more powerful ships.
Being a "Light class" she brings only three cannon to the party, One forwards and one each to Port and Starboard. There are spaces for two gunners to sail along with the captain, allowing for pinpoint accuracy for even more deadly battling.
While built stronger than a gunboat, she is still less capable of taking damage then your typical sloop. Only 14 points of damage separate her from a final voyage to the bottom of the sea. A cunning captain can make best advantage of her speed, size, and maneuverability, a ham fisted one is just making a fish reef or a place to live for a homeless mer.
This addition to the Black Rose family of ships hopes that she will find her way into the hands of a good captain who can make the best of her strengths and hide the worst of her weaknesses. Could this be you?
