I LOVE ALL FANATIK HOUSES
full star full star full star full star full star Posted February 15, 2017 by Kemang

I have purchased during my 11 months on SL a lot of houses from everywhere (it seems like close to 100 to me, my inventory is about to explode )
some of the other houses I purchased looks good but has different short comings eg too high prim, display texture too high, lags, dissapears at certain distance, unrealistic etc

Then I bought a FANATIK house, which is FANTASTIK , and then I bought another and another and changed all the houses on my 4 sims (its kinda a rental / passion/ hobby building thingy) to Fanatik house , now I have become a Fanatik ,

One thing though ..

The last house I purchase is this Georgian house,
Beautiful , it has an emotional happy feeling as you enter ( as all Fanatik houses) ..
but..
the doors dont work , it just stays open
was I suppose to put a script in the doors? which I have not found out how to do that yet,
if the doors are ok , then its an excellent house .. as all Fanatik houses are

Please advice ..

Thank you

Okay I bought this house and I will say right off I like it. And will use it.
But there are numerous issues that need to be addressed. First, there are several gaps in the construction that allow light to be seen. A small issue perhaps, but I like tight builds.
Second, the square ceiling lights are completely out of character with the style of the period. Of course these can be unlinked and discarded but as the shadows are built in to the textures, you are left with black squares where the lights were. It is possible to add the shadows to the light prims themselves but this was not done.
Also one gets the impression this was designed more as a shop than a residence. There are no amenities such as fireplaces or interior doors. Houses in this period would have those. One wonders why there is a chimney other than as a prop. Overall what you get here is a shell, but don't get me wrong, it is indeed a pretty shell. The textures are nice.
I think the one thing that really has me thrown are the front and rear doors. Not only are they unscripted, but they are (again, props) made in the thrown open position, both right and left doors being one mesh prim, so there is simply no way to unlink and script them. You will have to make your own doors, thank you very much. Oh, but wait, the shadows of those open doors are on the floor texture so better consider a rug to hide the eyesore
I like this house. I will fix it. At 2,800L it wasn't all that expensive. if it had been twice that price it would have gotten one star in this review.
It's a real good start but why stop before it's really nice? me/shrugs
