This ready-to-rez wind turbine is a 40m tower Fixed-Pitch Variable-Speed machine, which responds to the local windspeed. Changes in speed are graduated to target-speed (subject to llTargetOmega limitations), rather than matching it instantly, to simulate the inertia of the rotor. It has 4 modes of operation:
0. Stopped: Rotor slowing down until stationary.
1. Autorun: Rotor running only if windspeed is between minimum & maximum limits.
2. Running. Rotor running freely to follow windspeed.
3. Waiting: Rotor awaiting changes of position or orientation of tower, rotor gear, or windspeed thresholds.
A control bay at the back of the turbine nacelle allows the owner to operate the controls from a convenient seated position. Notional lift access is provided from/to the ground, and the control bay canopy opens & closes automatically, in addition to having manual control. Hover text displays only when the canopy is open.
The rotor modes can be set to either locked or unlocked to other people.
This wind turbine reports output data, and can be used in conjunction with the Power Monitor & Energy Storage System (see Related Items below).
